Fragrance information:

Midnight Poison Elixir Dior, created in 2008, is marketed as a feminine fragrance, belonging to the east and wood families. Conceived and brought to life by perfumer François Demachy. Midnight Poison Elixir is part of the Poison collection. The fragrance concentration is eau de parfum.

It carries a moderate sillage, leaving a trail that lingers pleasantly in the air. Longevity is moderate — not too much, not too little, just right. France is where this fragrance comes from — and it shows. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The composition of Midnight Poison Elixir is built as a living composition, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The style of Dior comes through in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum keeps the depth and body this composition needs.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a cozy sugary mood: Caramel, Patchouli, Rose and Vanilla. In this format 4 notes sound as one voice, building a sweet enveloping resonance that feels seamless.

The deeper layers are felt as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which keeps the fragrance coherent.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Gourmet, Floral, Wood and Spicy without random overlap. The profile is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read. For persistence Middle indicates a stable lasting impression.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Sweet, Wood, Floral and Gourmet.

Taken together Midnight Poison Elixir holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. This is the type of composition best understood in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

On me, this perfume is simply awful, harsh and with a clear masculine undertone. Honestly, it's so overpowering, it's unbearable. My mood was ruined by such a "gift" The scent is absolutely not for me, now I'm just thinking who to give it to

How I regret not having met him earlier, like ten years ago. If that had been the case, I wouldn't have a whole bunch of other fragrances now, and I would only love him! This perfume is simply a gem. It has taken a special place in my life, and the time I dedicate to it has become important to me. A true masterpiece, without a doubt, a brilliant fragrance! Simply delightful

I was hoping for a richer caramel version of "Poison," thinking I could find a replacement for rare fragrances. In the end, I got "Poison in a diluted form." It turned out softer and sweeter, but less voluminous and with less sillage, and the longevity also suffered. Perhaps this is due to long-term storage, but the original MP is not older

With the classic one, it almost never works for me, it disappears quickly, but Elixir lasts much longer. Perhaps the combination of caramel and vanilla sounds much better on me. I like both fragrances, but Elixir still wins 🌟

I can't call Elixir Midnight my favorite, but I wore it with pleasure. It's beautiful, deep, and a little languid. In cool weather, it unfolds with a gentle sweetness, which gives it a special charm 🌧️

The fragrance, of course, looks appealing, the bottle is simply gorgeous, but on me, it unfolds terribly! The patchouli sounds as if it's separated from the sweet caramel notes, reminiscent of an old dusty chest in the corner. The caramel quickly loses its brightness, becoming somewhat flat and uninteresting. Maybe it's just bad luck with my skin chemistry, because on a friend, this fragrance smells completely different, like a real masterpiece 😔
