Identity and History of Dior J'adore Absolu

Dior J'adore Absolu is an exquisite perfume released in 2018, continuing the legendary J'adore line from Dior.

This fragrance embodies Parisian elegance and luxury, characteristic of the House founded in 1947, symbolizing enduring style and femininity.

Perfumer and Influence on the Collection

The creation of J'adore Absolu was led by the talented perfumer François Demachy, who brought his unique style to the composition, enriching the floral palette and enhancing the DNA of Dior.

His mastery helped make this fragrance more intense and sensual, perfectly fitting into the evolution of the collection.

Positioning and Usage Recommendations

This fragrance is positioned as feminine and presented in the form of perfume water, providing intensity and longevity that is ideal for special moments.

Its medium trail makes it memorable but not overpowering, excellent for evening events, romantic dates, or occasions where one wants to emphasize elegance.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to apply pointwise on pulse points such as wrists and neck, and to enter the cloud when spraying on clothing, allowing the fragrance to unfold evenly and last long, creating an aura of tenderness.

Olfactive Groups and Family

Dior J'adore Absolu belongs to the floral family, combining notes from the floral and white floral groups, creating a rich and multifaceted bouquet full of freshness and depth.

This makes it versatile for different seasons, especially delightful in the spring-summer period.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The scent of morning jasmine evokes associations with blackcurrant, and by evening the flowers begin to emit a bright apricot scent, as Dior claims. J’adore Absolu is created based on Grasse and Arabian jasmine, which contrast with a pink hue, under which silky magnolia flowers unfold. And tuberose, infused with citrus juice, adds completeness and roundness to the composition

I have J'Adore, which I was given about 7-8 years ago. This version, honestly, seems flatter and not as vibrant. The accents are missing, and that's disappointing 😒

Dior J’adore appeared almost two decades ago, and since then it has been reformulated several times. It was originally created by Calice Becker, and then François Demachy made his changes, and now we have it in an updated version with many flankers. J’adore Absolu focuses on a white floral accord, where jasmine plays the main role. It is not a sweet, but a rich jasmine with the bright sparkle of orange blossom, lily of the valley, and a slight creaminess of tuberose. It unfolds gradually, sounds cohesive and perhaps even a little monotonous. But this doesn't make it boring. Additional floral notes create an interesting pattern that is pleasant to observe, although it doesn't go beyond jasmine. Musk gives the flowers depth and softness, but be prepared for a significant amount of it in J’adore Absolu. If you don't suffer from anosmia, musk will be felt from the first minutes until the very end. It softens the animalic note of jasmine, concealing it. Despite the abundance of musk, the fragrance remains light and elegant. It cannot be called sweet or woody, although sandalwood gives a creamy-woody nuance necessary for a white floral accord. It has no oriental notes, which is often found in fragrances named «Absolu,» especially with jasmine. J’adore Absolu is a successful white floral fragrance. Compared to the original by Calice Becker, this flanker is less juicy and complex, but more strict and elegant. I still feel a resemblance to the legendary J’adore. If you love white flowers, especially jasmine, be sure to try this fragrance if you're not afraid of a large amount of white musk 🌸

J'adore and I just didn't click. Today I gave it to my friend, I've tried several versions and I still don't get why it's so popular. I only smell some vague white florals and a chemical jasmine. I don't like it on myself, and not on others either. This composition is too recognizable. Nothing personal to the fans of the scent, but for me it seems too simple and sharp 😔

In my opinion, this fragrance is more suitable for evenings and special occasions. It's bright, floral, but at the same time feels quite serious, which isn't always the case with floral perfumes. It would also be good for the theater, by the way. The magnolia really comes through here
