Perfume information

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Billet Doux unfolds as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The style of Fragonard is recognizable in the way notes appear and fade. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

From the first breath you detect sparkling citrus top notes: Bergamot, Lemon and Mandarin. These 3 notes build sunny vitality that is impossible to miss.

In the middle phase you meet Clove, Frangipani and Peony carrying a harmonious floral direction.

The olfactory framework is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Wood and Spicy with each one in a clear role. The profile is feminine, which clarifies the composition character.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Citrus, Floral, Gourmet and Wood. The palette also extends to Whiteflower. From a family perspective the composition sits in Citrus and Floral.

Taken together Billet Doux sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. This is the type of composition best experienced on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This little bottle really catches the eye, it looks more like a winner's cup than a regular perfume vessel. The clove here, yes, it's cologne-like, and I agree with that, but the powdery aspect, in my opinion, is too intrusive. There's so much powder here that it doesn't disappear throughout the entire fragrance. Overall, it's a scent with retro notes, a touch of provocation, and femininity. It's gentle, enveloping, and leaves a trail. I recommend wearing it in autumn and winter, because in summer even powder lovers might find Billet Doux has too much of it 😅

There's something exotic in this perfume, but the clove adds a nuance that might not appeal to everyone. The fragrance is truly powerful, long-lasting, and has character

A floral scent that only causes bewilderment. The retro clove note is there, of course, but it doesn't save the situation. Warm and cold at the same time? Come on, that's just nonsense. It's only suitable for spring or autumn, but even then it's too intrusive and sharp. I don't recommend it if you don't want to be choked 😤

At first, the fragrance clearly has a prominent clove with a light cologne accent, but over time it softens and starts to sound more refined. Powdery notes gradually appear, but the perfume still maintains its transparency and freshness. I really like this scent! 🌸
