Fragrance information:

Rose Ambre Fragonard, launched in 2014, is marketed as a feminine fragrance, falling within the east and floral families. The fragrance concentration is eau de parfum.

The sillage is delicate — an intimate cloud that stays close to the skin. Longevity is on the low side — a good excuse to refresh it throughout the day. France is where this fragrance comes from — and it shows. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Rose Ambre is built as a layered story, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Fragonard is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

As soon as the fragrance opens you meet invigorating sunny first notes: Bergamot and Blackcurrant.

When the opening settles you sense Almond and Rose carrying a dense confectionery direction.

The accord profile is built around these accords: Citrus, Gourmet, Floral and Fruit with each one in a clear role. Background accords such as Wood, Amber and Spicy enrich the profile without taking over. The profile is feminine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. In wear duration Low suggests confident staying power.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Citrus, Fruit, Gourmet and Floral. It also reaches into Ambery, Wood, Spicy and Whiteflower.

In summary Rose Ambre sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best judged through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Rose with blackcurrant and a slight powder bitterness with patchouli. This fragrance is truly impressive, it sounds expensive and status-affirming, lasts a long time. It's not suitable for everyday wear, definitely shouldn't wear it to the office 😌

What the hell! Rose here, rose there, where is frankincense? Expected in the pyramid, but instead tonka bean. Explains a lot, but doesn't add up. Logic exists, but lacks important

The design, honestly, raises questions - there's something retro about it, but it's not entirely clear what exactly. And the fragrance... it's also kind of strange. There's rose, but it's so blurred, as if it was heavily diluted with water, and something unclear was added to it. It's good that it doesn't smell chemical at all, for that you can only thank the perfumers. Overall, it sounds quite noble, although its origin remains a mystery 🤔

The sweet almond in this fragrance reminds me of some cloying candy or pastry I'm already tired of. Soft, sure, but it would be better if it lasted longer. Maybe it really is just for summer, but right now it feels too quiet and uninspiring. I want to try it again, but so far it doesn't impress me!
