Francesca dell'Oro Rosmenthe: Italian Masterpiece of 2017

Released in 2017, the fragrance Francesca dell'Oro Rosmenthe is part of the collection The Black Series by the brand Francesca dell'Oro.

This Italian niche house, founded in 2012, is known for creating perfume worlds at the intersection of high fashion, literature, and personal memories, offering its fans not just fragrances, but entire emotional journeys.

Rosmenthe belongs to the Floral and Aquatic families, reflecting its universal character, suitable for both women and men seeking a fresh and inspiring scent.

Universal Perfume for Any Season

Classified as unisex, this fragrance in perfume water concentration has a medium trail, perfectly balanced for everyday wear without being overly intrusive.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to apply 2 to 3 sprays on the skin and 3 to 4 on clothing, which ensures longevity throughout the day, revealing the scent gradually and elegantly.

Thanks to its aquatic and floral accents, Rosmenthe is perfect for spring and summer days, adding a refreshing note to office routines or casual meetings, making it complimentary and easily recognizable in any setting.

Talented Creation by Perfumers

The creation of this fragrance involved the outstanding perfumers Bertrand Duchaufour and Francesca dell'Oro, whose collaboration combined innovative approaches with a deep understanding of the brand's aesthetic.

Their contribution allowed Rosmenthe to become a significant release, strengthening the reputation of Francesca dell'Oro as a pioneer in the world of niche perfumery, where every note tells a unique story.

Description of the composition

The composition of Francesca dell`Oro Rosmenthe is a complex and harmonious pyramid of notes.

The top notes, including aldehydes, cedar, citron, laurel, laurelia, sea chord and mint, create a refreshing and intriguing start with light citrus and green nuances.

The heart of the fragrance unfolds through delicate floral chords: freesia, peony and rose, adding softness, elegance, and floral harmony that smoothly transitions to the base.

The base notes, such as cedar, juniper berries, sandalwood, woody chord and musk, provide longevity and a warm, woody-musky finish, making the fragrance deep and memorable.

This combination of aquatic, floral, and woody elements allows Rosmenthe to unfold gradually on the skin, from a fresh start to a cozy base, creating a multifaceted and inspiring impression.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Grabbed the bottle at the last moment, I hesitated for a long time, the price is really high. The scent for me is roses with mint against a backdrop of seawater. The fragrance is simply stunning. I didn't notice frozen flowers, but aquatic notes and mint are definitely present 🌊

Rose with an aldehydic accent, quite sharp and intense, with a slight coniferous hint that feels like tartness, perhaps even with a minty touch. I expected something deeper from the fragrance than just a bright rose

The name of the fragrance Rosmenthe speaks for itself. Rose petals and cold, refreshing mint have harmoniously merged in it. But for an adequate analysis of the composition, the harmony must be broken, conceptually dividing it into two conditional blocks: green and floral. The green part of the fragrance, starting with mint and laurel, continues into a transparent woody-aquatic accord, based on iso-e-super, calone, and delicate woody tones of juniper and cedar. Their sound, of course, cannot imitate the mint from the top phase of the fragrance, but it can support it, cooling the entire composition. The floral part is represented by a rose accord, also cool due to hedione. Duchaufour depicted thin, fragile flower petals engulfed by sudden night frosts, trembling in anticipation of a transparent and shining icy captivity. However, with the onset of dawn, the terrible threat recedes and dissolves, like an unpleasant dream, leaving behind only a slight chill and a cold, ghostly breath. The rose in Rosmenthe appears white, with green veins at the base of the petals, gathered in a tight bud. After dividing the composition into blocks, it becomes clear that components playing a significant role and, in fact, responsible for its integrity, were left out. Musks and aldehydes perform the function of binding elements in Rosmenthe, creating balance and being responsible for the subdued, somewhat blurred nature of the fragrance. Neither mint nor rose seems excessively intense or sounding separately. Aldehydes in the top phase and musks in the final phase provide a smooth, natural sound, as if there really were roses that had a light frosty-minty hue in their aroma. Rosmenthe is definitely worth the attention of lovers of perfumed roses

the fragrance disappointed me, I expected something brighter. Mint and sea freshness are there, of course, but they don't save the situation. Peony rose with woody notes doesn't create any harmony, it only adds heaviness. It's not a dance, but rather some clumsy attempt to combine the incompatible. It's not interesting to observe, rather you want to distance yourself and forget
