Description of the composition

The scent of Cologne Indelebile unfolds as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Citrus, Floral, Whiteflower and Musk. At family level the fragrance belongs to Citrus and Floral.

As soon as the fragrance opens you meet sparkling citrus first notes: Bergamot and Lemon.

When the opening settles you sense Narcissus, Neroli and Orange blossom keeping a silky white floral direction. In the final layer the structure settles through Musk, reinforcing a silky musky trail.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Citrus, Floral and Musc with each one in a clear role. The profile is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

In summary Cologne Indelebile holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the scent structures best judged in wear.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance in question is not at all versatile. I'm sure there will be people who find it repulsive. Neroli and orange blossom certainly stand out, but that doesn't save the situation. Citrus notes are almost imperceptible, and the white flowers in the drydown are something else entirely. For a cologne, it's too dense, although that seems to be the creators' intention. There's a certain oppressive dampness to it, like flowers after rain, but it's not pleasant. There's no point talking about innovation here, nothing new was offered. If I had to choose among neroli fragrances, I'd prefer Frederic Malle. In character, it resembles Van Cleef&Arpels Neroli Amara and California Reverie, but that doesn't make it any better. Overall, you wouldn't call it positive or joyful; rather, it's just light and quickly forgotten

This fragrance reminds me of spring. I smell bright floral notes in it, like lilac, neroli, and jasmine with a light citrus accent. It's really harmonious and balanced, good longevity, but not too overpowering. I think it will definitely appeal to those who love floral scents 🌸

«Indelible Cologne» is another work created in tandem with Dominique Ropion, released in 2015. The name of the fragrance seems to hint at a common problem for all cologne lovers - fresh citrus notes which, alas, by the laws of physics cannot be long-lasting. The perfumer was given a difficult task: to create a cologne that would overshadow all others in terms of longevity. Cologne Indelebile is a kind of experiment in a familiar area for us. Ropion removed all aromatic and green notes usually inherent in colognes, leaving only citrus: bergamot, lemon, and neroli. Although, to be honest, neroli is more of a floral note than a citrus one. In any case, it is neroli and orange blossom that become the main characters of the fragrance. In my opinion, Dominique Ropion is one of those perfumers who truly knows how to work with orange blossom. In his interpretation, orange blossom fragrances sound especially appealing. In Cologne Indelebile, neroli and orange blossom initially sound at the same level, but soon the sweetish-honeyed orange blossom begins to dominate. It intertwines with musk and remains until the very end. But can this be called a cologne? Perhaps only in terms of lightness and comfort. The classic structure is not observed here. Nevertheless, it is indeed a beautiful floral composition dedicated to orange blossom. Who needs Cologne Indelebile? Everyone who adores orange blossom fragrances. Those who prefer light, sparkling, and flowing compositions, yet not devoid of elegance and charm. It is perfect for everyday office wear, as it is unobtrusive and delicate

The scent is indeed rich, with notes of neroli, orange blossom, and petitgrain. The quality is high, but such fragrances can be found in any collection. It feels like there's nothing new here. From Malle and Ropion, I'd expect something more original and inspiring ✨

Listen, what's with all this nonsense about citrus and white flowers? 🤨 It sounds decent, sure, but is it really that original? End of the day at the beach, rattan furniture, a glass of champagne. Who needs that? When all the colors fade, smells start crawling out like cockroaches from a crack. On the skin, maybe it develops, but with a honeyed aftertaste - that's too much. I don't know if it's even worth spending money on this 😒

Neroli, orange blossom, and bergamot are mixed in a rather sharp combination. It's not a bad men's eau de toilette, of course, and its longevity is decent. But, honestly, I don't understand why pay for it, just like for other fragrances from this brand
