Description of the composition

The composition of Demi-Jour is built as an expressive line of development, where notes flow without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Houbigant is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Perfume extract emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

As soon as the fragrance opens you detect fantasy sparkling opening notes: Aldehydes and Bergamot.

In the middle phase you meet Iris, Jasmine, Rose and ylang-ylang keeping a velvety rose-iris direction.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral with each one in a clear role. Background accords such as Musc, Wood, Powdery and Amber expand the olfactory volume in the background.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Fairy, Citrus, Floral and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Animals, Balsamic, Earthy / Mossy and Wood.

Taken together Demi-Jour sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best understood in wear.
