Released in 1989, the fragrance Joop! Homme by the brand Joop! instantly became a symbol of an era, embodying the energy and courage of its creator.

This release, which appeared at the peak of men's perfume popularity in the late 80s, still remains a benchmark of style, attracting the attention of both collectors and new admirers with its unique charm.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Joop! Homme begins with an invigorating burst of citrus: bergamot, lemon and mandarin in tandem with delicate orange blossom create a refreshing start.

In the heart of the composition, spicy and floral notes unfold: cardamom and cinnamon add warmth, while heliotrope, jasmine and lily of the valley bring soft femininity.

The base notes, including patchouli, sandalwood, tonka bean and vanilla, ensure a long-lasting and cozy finish, uniting the citrus, spicy and gourmet groups into a harmonious whole.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The smell is quite bright, sometimes even too sharp, with notes of alcohol and tartness reminiscent of cherry. I can't say I liked it. It's worth getting acquainted with, but I wouldn't wear it myself, and my acquaintances also refused

This scent, honestly, isn't as good as they describe it. Yes, it's sweetish and somewhat appealing, but in reality, it's just another perfume trying to attract women's attention 😒 Vanilla, cinnamon, and sandalwood - yes, you can smell them, but the cherry quickly disappears, leaving only this cloying sweetness. The longevity, of course, isn't bad, but 8 hours isn't that much considering the sillage can be suffocating. Don't overdo the application, or you'll just choke. Overall, for me, it's mediocre, not super, just for a certain mood. But it's probably worth having in a collection so as not to seem completely tasteless

I found myself a perfume in an online store, ordered Joop! Homme for 1000 rubles and, honestly, I was shocked. The packaging, of course, is non-standard, but that's not the main thing. The perfume is long-lasting, but there's something off about it. Delivery was fast, the consultant seemed friendly, but that doesn't save the situation. The perfume belongs to the oriental and fougère classes, but the vanilla notes, which should be pleasing, only cause irritation. All in all, I don't know if it's worth repeating the experience with this store 🤨

This fragrance, honestly, gives me mixed feelings. Yes, it's bright and sexy, but definitely not for everyday use. The longevity is just off the charts, sometimes it feels like it could suffocate you. I use it in tiny doses, otherwise it's unbearable.

As for the cherry, it's more like a cherry pit than the fruit itself. There's some strange tartness that's intoxicating. When it unfolds, it really plays, but not quite as I'd like. Many acquaintances talk about incense in the sillage, but I don't smell it. But the sillage is simply killer: first it bursts in, and then you follow. I notice how girls sniff around, as if looking for a man who would suit this scent

As soon as I sprayed this scent at duty-free, I immediately knew I couldn't get rid of it. I tried washing and scrubbing my hand, but it still wouldn't go away. And I'm not the only one; everyone who smelled it on me wasn't thrilled either, maybe even worse. I'm not against sweet smells, but this one just didn't develop as it should. It didn't suit me at all, just irritating. It doesn't let me breathe properly

The fragrance is impressive, of course, but I can't say it's perfect. Citrus notes are replaced by the bitterness of cinnamon, and that creates mixed feelings. The longevity is good, but sometimes it seems too intrusive. In the Joop line, it might stand out, but I can't say it's the best 😔

A scent that tries to be niche, but in reality, it reminds me of soap and cleaning products. Woody notes, yes, but sometimes it seems like there's honey, though that's probably a bad joke. For everyday use, maybe it's okay, but the price doesn't always justify the expectations

The fragrance is really interesting; you can sense heliotrope, sometimes with an almond nuance, and at times it reminds me of a cherry pit with powder. The sweetness is bitterish and alluring. But it's a shame they changed it. Now it smells too artificial 😕
