Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Afternoon Tea unfolds as a layered story, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Karen Doue is evident from the opening to the final trail. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Wood with each one in a clear role. Background accords such as Powdery enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which clarifies the composition character.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a energetic fresh mood: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Grass, Iris, Labdanum, Lemon and Oak moss.

The heart and base are perceived as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which gives the structure continuity.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Green, Floral and Balsamic. The palette also extends to Earthy / Mossy and Wood. Within olfactory families the composition sits in Fern.

Taken together Afternoon Tea holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best judged in wear.
