Fragrance information:

Meet Kusado Sensu — a fragrance inspired by the Japanese fan

Kusado is a Parisian brand with a Japanese soul: its concepts are developed under the guidance of perfumer Midori Ito, while production is based in France.

In 2001, the brand introduced Sensu, a women’s fragrance whose name translates as “fan.”

This composition belongs to the aldehydic and floral families, with a profile leaning toward green, musky, and spicy accents.

Thanks to its high concentration — eau de parfum — and noticeable sillage, Sensu makes a vivid impression.

How Sensu unfolds: from freshness to sensuality

The fragrance opens with sparkling citrus freshness: bergamot and mandarin intertwine with a green accord and a salty marine note.

This combination evokes a cool breeze and a carefree mood.

At the heart of the composition, a luxurious bouquet blooms: jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, freesia, geranium, and iris — all of them soft yet multifaceted.

The fruity touch of peach and the astringency of tea add unexpected depth to the fragrance.

The base is built around sensual notes: vanilla lends sweetness, musk envelops the skin in warmth, and oakmoss brings elegant earthiness.

Who should wear Kusado Sensu and when

This fragrance is an ideal choice for women who appreciate freshness and sophistication but are not afraid to stand out.

Sensu is perfect for everyday wear: it brings a sense of calm and confidence while remaining long-lasting enough to accompany you from morning to evening.

The fragrance is for women, but its green-spicy nuances also make it appealing to lovers of unisex compositions. Thanks to its noticeable sillage, you will be surrounded by a delicate yet perceptible cloud.

Similar fragrances worth trying

If you liked Sensu, explore fragrances with a similar mood. For example, Kenzo L'Eau Par Kenzo is equally fresh and aquatic.

Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue Gold shares a similar floral heart, while Etat Libre d'Orange Je Suis Un Homme will surprise you with its spicy facets.

All these fragrances share a love of green and musky accords.

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid of Kusado Sensu is built on the contrast between freshness and warmth. The top notes—bergamot, mandarin, a green accord, and an aquatic note—create an invigorating opening.

The heart unfolds into a lavish bouquet of freesia, geranium, iris, jasmine, lily of the valley, peach, rose, and a tea note, creating a multifaceted floral-fruity accord.

A base of oakmoss, vanilla, and musk lends the trail sensual softness and lasting power.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Sweet bitterness. This scent just envelops you, like a light cloud. I don't want to break it down into notes, because for me it's perfect in its harmony. On a blotter, many didn't like it. When I first smelled it in 2001, I got the feeling it was the scent of passion (in the best possible way). There's one downside though - it quickly disappears from the bottle, the sprayer has no cap, and the fragrance just evaporates. Such a shame they discontinued it

Hey friends! Does anyone know where I can find the original 2001 fragrance? I had it back then, and I'm absolutely obsessed with it. It was something unbelievable, exactly what I needed. Not interested in modern versions, only the 2001 original! 🌟
