Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The rose here is fresh and light, as if just cut. At first, it seemed too simple for the Lancome brand. But after wearing it, my opinion changed. It's really good. The house's DNA isn't immediately recognizable, but then it becomes noticeable. It starts with vague notes, but on the skin, it unfolds and begins to attract attention in a light, unobtrusive way. And, as befits expensive fragrances, the raspberry doesn't sound artificial, and there's enough moisture and freshness to not drown in the rose notes. Everything looks decent, but not boring, although I don't detect peony. The bottle is simply gorgeous 🌹

I got a sample, and this is just a gorgeous scent! Rose combined with a burgundy peony that's a little bitter - maybe it's pepper at the start. Geranium is clearly felt here, giving the rose such seriousness and a touch of retro notes. And raspberry adds a pleasant tartness. Everything sounds so harmonious! Although nothing new, it's still very beautiful, in the spirit of the brand

For Lancôme, the rose is not just a flower, but a true emblem of the brand, so closely tied to its identity that its image can be found on cosmetic packaging. So it's no surprise that the brand's fragrances are often filled with rose notes. I remember secretly using my mom's Lancôme face oil as a child, which smelled so strongly of roses. When my mom noticed, she asked why I was doing it, and I replied, "Because they're right under my nose." She didn't have perfume, and where else was I supposed to get other olfactory experiences? At the time, I was just over 12, but it seems I already knew then that perfumery would become a part of my life.

As for Lancôme perfumery, in their boutique collection, you can find several rose-based fragrances: two are named after this flower, and two more are in Magnolia Rosae and Pivoines Printemps. And recently, Rose Peonia appeared - also with rose, although the fragrance is dedicated to peonies. But for me, it's still a rose that surprisingly reminds me of Mille & Une Rose, which I don't like. Actually, there's nothing terrible in Mille & Une Rose except for the musk, which is too sharp for me, and the damascones, which cause a tickle in the throat. Rose Peonia inherited these notes, but in smaller quantities. The raspberry note softens the tobacco-wine dryness of the damascones, and the musky accord, though close to one that makes you want to cry, is much less intense. The fruity accord is fresh and long-lasting, bordering on gourmand, and it's what saves the entire composition. This is followed by a classic rose, quite neutral and versatile. I never found peonies, but it's worth noting that their scent can vary depending on the variety, and I'm not an expert in that. The composition isn't overly bright, but it's full-bodied. It can be called elegant thanks to its transparency and cool minerality. Longevity and s

What a terrible bottle! I don't understand what's so appealing about it. I haven't tried the fragrance yet, of course, but these shiny facets and shadows in the press release are just irritating. How much more can one take?! I want all of this to disappear!!

It seems this fragrance will be lighter and create a spring mood. I'm going to try it, after all, peonies are my weakness. This season everyone around will be exuding scents of peonies and roses, because every new release is, essentially, a rose bouquet

There seems to be something similar in the line? But, in any case, it's worth trying and not stopping! Spring is the time for my favorite notes, and this fragrance is simply gorgeous! 🌸
