There are more expressive sandalwood fragrances, like Santal 33 by Le Labo, but there, the sandalwood is not real, but assembled from synthetics and other materials. In Santal Kardamon, everything is different. The first thing that hits you is spices and leather, where cardamom is not primary. Pepper, clove, and a little cinnamon set the spicy character, and cardamom only slightly cools. Clove firmly binds the spicy accord with the leather, which cannot be called soft. It's animalic, with fecal and smoky nuances, giving it a resemblance to oud.
