Description of the composition

The scent of Petitgrain is built as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The style of Malin+Goetz comes through in details that define the fragrance identity. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de toilette sets the right density and pace of development.

The internal accord map is shaped by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Musc, Wood, Powdery and Amber enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which clarifies the composition character.

Right at the start you meet radiant lemon-bergamot top notes: Bergamot, Neroli and Petitgrain.

In the middle phase you notice Cardamom, Iris, Lavender and Orange blossom holding a warm-spicy direction.

From the group perspective the profile is anchored in Citrus, Floral, Spicy and Green. The palette also extends to Whiteflower, Ambery, Wood and Musk.

In summary Petitgrain reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. This is the type of composition best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The lavender here is clearly synthetic, drenched in ambroxan. If you don't pick up on this molecule, the scent will just pass you by. I'm not sure how strong it is on me, but my son says I smell like a grandma 😔
