Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Tapage Nocturne is built as a layered story, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Plumages comes through in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

As soon as the fragrance opens you sense piquant warm first notes: Ginger, Lime and Litsea cubeba. These 3 notes build piquant dynamism that anchors the first impression immediately.

At the core of development you meet Coca-Cola, Coffee and Osmanthus holding a tea-velvety direction.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Citrus, Gourmet, Floral and Wood without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Alcoholic expand the olfactory volume in the background.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Spicy, Citrus, Wood and Drinks. It also reaches into Gourmet and Floral. At family level the composition sits in East.

In summary Tapage Nocturne sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the central phase adds depth, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best experienced through real development.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

With this scent, it wasn't love at first sniff… When the package arrived, I didn't get it from the first spray. It seemed too heavy and complex. I put it aside and forgot about it. But now I can't get enough! Sometimes feelings come unexpectedly.

As for the scent itself: it's strong, brutal, more unisex, but with a clear masculine accent. If you manage to make friends with it, I'm sure the friendship will be long-lasting 😁 It starts with powerful tobacco (like fresh leaves) and something burnt (maybe coffee beans). And then - it's just a miracle! The brutal notes soften, and that very rum and coke cocktail appears, sometimes with coconut-lactonic nuances. Unrealistically delicious! The fragrance is very long-lasting and diffusive. I see it for any time of year, except spring. Even in summer, despite its power and intensity

Tapage Nocturne is truly a mysterious and dark fragrance that evokes anxiety. They say it's inspired by oud, but honestly, I haven't come across anything quite like it. It starts with bitter almond, enveloped in spicy smoke, and around it hovers a sweetish wood with a balsamic accord, where myrrh takes center stage. The woody notes here are very diverse: patchouli, cyperus, cedar, a bit of sandalwood, and of course, coffee. Coffee, along with vanilla, adds sweetness but doesn't overload the scent; rather, it emphasizes its nuances. A touch of tobacco in the balsamic part gives it a masculine character, but the main theme is still wood and almond. This fragrance is worth trying for anyone who loves perfume almond, as well as those who are constantly looking for new variations of oud. Although it differs from all the oud fragrances I know, it might appeal. And I've once again realized that Anne-Sophie Behaghel's perfumery isn't quite my thing 😅
