How notes combine into fragrance families

2008: the world took its first breath of Infusion d`Homme Prada. This is a masculine fragrance rooted in the fern and wood families. The author of this composition is Daniela Roche-Andrier, and that explains a lot. Part of the Infusion collection, available as eau de toilette.
It has a delicate sillage, staying close and personal. The longevity of this fragrance is moderate — exactly what most occasions call for. The birthplace of this fragrance — Italy, a place with a refined nose. Infusion d`Homme Prada unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.
The fragrance has medium longevity and lasts on the skin for about 5-6 hours, gradually revealing its notes and leaving a pleasant impression
A subtle trail—just a hint of fragrance
The perfume has a rich aroma that will help you stand out from the crowd and create a memorable image
A light and elegant fragrance with harmonious richness—the perfect balance between the depth of eau de parfum and the freshness of cologne
Perfumes for the fall and winter seasons often contain notes of vanilla, spices, ambergris, wood, and other warm accords, creating a feeling of comfort and warmth during the cold months
The note pyramid of Infusion d`Homme is built as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Prada is clear in details that define the fragrance identity. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette supports the right density and pace of development.
In the top tier you catch radiant lemon-bergamot top notes: Mandarin and Neroli.
When the opening settles you sense Galbanum, Iris, Vetiver and White Cedar carrying a structural woody direction.
The internal accord map is built around these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral forming a compact and readable structure. Secondary accord layers such as Wood and Powdery enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is masculine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. In longevity terms Middle points to a sustained drydown presence.
At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Citrus, Floral, Green and Wood. It also reaches into Balsamic and Powdery.
In summary Infusion d`Homme holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best experienced in wear.

Don't get me wrong, the scent makes an impression, it smells decent, but it could use a little more warmth and creaminess, like a good iris soap. Unfortunately, Madame Andrier couldn't add comfort and warmth (just look at her works, it's all clear there). In the end, we have a clean, almost sterile scent that evokes no emotions. It just sits there, like a frozen fish, smiling mysteriously.
Sometimes I feel very good in it, but how pleasant it is to wash it off in the evening (if you manage to, of course). In summary: the scent is pleasant, noticeable, but quite characterless and artificial (which sometimes isn't so bad). If for everyday wear, then only for true enthusiasts. It's like choosing boiled sausage when there's so much delicious food around! :) Overall, it's all a matter of taste, culture of use, and individual perception
