Swiss Arabian Ultima: a masculine fragrance with an oriental character

Introducing Swiss Arabian Ultima, a fragrance launched in 2014 that instantly won the hearts of fans of rich, long-lasting compositions.

This is an eau de parfum designed for men, but believe us, many women will not be able to resist its magnetism either.

The fragrance belongs to the aromatic and woody families, and these are not just words—every note here resonates with confidence and elegance.

From the very first seconds, Ultima makes its presence known with a vibrant citrus-marine accord. Juicy grapefruit and sweet mandarin intertwine with a slightly salty marine accord, evoking the sensation of a fresh sea breeze.

Yet behind this invigorating energy lies a deep, passionate character: the heart reveals spicy laurel and honeyed jasmine, adding sensuality and mystery to the fragrance.

The base is a true ode to woody luxury.

Guaiac wood lends warmth and smokiness, patchouli adds earthy depth, oakmoss brings damp greenery, while ambergris envelops the composition in a delicate, subtly salty veil.

Together, they create a very strong sillage that lingers on the skin and clothing for many hours.

Ultima is a fragrance for a self-assured man who is not afraid to be the center of attention. It is ideal for cooler weather, evening occasions, and special events.

If you enjoy compositions like this, take a look at similar fragrances: Paco Rabanne Invictus, Lattafa Perfumes Attri Khusoosi, and Paco Rabanne Invictus Onyx.

Each interprets the theme of freshness and strength in its own way, but Ultima remains unique thanks to its oriental accent.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This just sounds awful! Unpleasant, sharp, with some strange marine notes and greens. Spices break through, but only spoil everything. The result is something energetic, but prickly and completely unbearable 😒

Ultima is, of course, a fresh fragrance for men, but I can't say it impressed me. Yes, it clearly tries to be on trend with European luxury, but something is missing. Marine freshness and bitter citruses, yes, they're there, but it feels like it's all too simple and mundane. When it develops, some pickle brine appears, which, fortunately, quickly fades, but in its place comes dry bay leaf. In the base, it becomes somewhat too strict and woody, even a bit boring. Overall, I expected more and only got disappointment ))
