Fragrance information:

Pentachords White by Tauer Perfumes is an ode to purity and refinement, launched in 2011 as part of the PentaChords collection.

Created by perfumer Andy Tauer, this unisex eau de parfum has very strong sillage and evokes a sense of luxurious weightlessness.

History and Philosophy

Tauer Perfumes is a Swiss niche house founded in 2005 by chemist and romantic Andy Tauer.

Its philosophy is to create fragrances that tell stories through pure, natural ingredients.

The PentaChords collection explores five key accords, and Pentachords White is an elegant composition in which every element shines with crystal clarity.

Composition and Character

The fragrance belongs to the floral, musky, and woody families. At the heart of its pyramid are the shimmering facets of iris and violet, warmed by Bourbon vanilla and amber.

A woody accent of palisander (rosewood) creates a velvety base.

Character and Wearability

Its unisex nature makes it ideal for anyone who appreciates intellectual, elegant perfumery.

Its very strong sillage leaves an unforgettable impression, while the composition remains delicate and refined.

Pentachords White unfolds beautifully in cool weather—during spring and autumn—highlighting calm confidence and sensuality.

Signature Style

Andy Tauer is renowned for creating rich, multi-dimensional fragrances with a transparent soul.

Pentachords White is no exception: it combines Tauer's signature depth with the airy lightness of white flowers and soft woody notes.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The Pentachords White fragrance pyramid is built around five accords: the spicy sweetness of Bourbon vanilla intertwines with warm amber, while powdery iris and violet add a delicate floral touch.

The velvety woodiness of rosewood lends the composition refined depth. The fragrance unfolds smoothly without losing its airy structure.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

White flowers, powder, vanilla, and woody notes. All of this, of course, sounds pleasant, but in reality, it turns out to be utterly ordinary. No highlight, no depth. Just a collection of familiar scents that leave nothing but a slight boredom behind. It's like you're waiting for something special, and in the end, you only get banality. Disappointment, nothing less)))

I bought this perfume after a quick test where I was drawn to the natural notes of violet and iris. At first, it seemed restrained and noble. But as I wore it, it didn't unfold in the best way - an unpleasant burnt rubber note started to appear. It bothers me constantly, although others claim they don't smell anything like it. Looks like I'll have to exchange it for something else; I won't be able to wear it
