Biography and journey of a legend

Isabelle d'Ornano is not just a perfumer, but a true aristocrat of spirit and smell, whose destiny is inextricably linked to the history of the luxury brand Sisley. Born on July 16, 1937, in Warsaw into the noble Polish families of Potocki and Radziwill, she brought a refined vision of beauty to life. Her union with Count Hubert d'Ornano in 1963 was not only a marriage, but also the beginning of a great creative partnership that gave the world exemplary cosmetics and exquisite perfumes.

The birth of the brand and perfume philosophy

In 1976, the couple acquired and relaunched the company, naming it after the impressionist painter Alfred Sisley. Their philosophy was revolutionary: to create premium products based on phyto-aromatherapy, revealing the healing power of plants. As creative director, Isabelle oversaw the creation of the fragrances from the very beginning, infusing them with her personal memories, aesthetic sensibility, and impeccable taste, turning each perfume into a story.

The best and most iconic fragrances by Isabelle d'Ornano

Under her leadership, true masterpieces were born, which are now adored by fans around the world. The debut green freshness of Eau de Campagne, inspired by the family estate, laid the foundation. However, her signature and most popular creation was the chypre floral elixir Eau du Soir, originally created as her personal fragrance. It set the bar high for subsequent hits: the romantic Soir de Lune, the sunny Izia and its limited editions, as well as the light accords of Eau Tropicale and Eau d'Ikar.

Signature style and attention to detail

Isabelle d'Ornano's style is one of elegant complexity. She masterfully combines floral hearts with woody, chypre, or fresh accords to create multifaceted and long-lasting compositions. But her genius extends beyond aromatic formulas. Each bottle is a work of art, created from sketches by artist Bronislaw Krzysztof, making Sisley perfumes objects of desire and collection.

Legacy and influence on the world of perfumery

After Count Hubert's departure in 2015, Isabelle d'Ornano gracefully took over the company, keeping it as a family business together with her son Philippe. Her contribution to the industry cannot be overstated: she proved that luxury perfumery can be deeply personal, intellectual, and artistic. Today, Sisley fragrances, created under her sensitive leadership, continue to receive rave reviews from connoisseurs, remaining the benchmark for impeccable taste and French sophistication.
