Description of the composition

The note pyramid of CK One Summer (2011) evolves as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Calvin Klein comes through in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette supports the depth and body this composition needs.

At the opening of the pyramid you sense radiant lemon-bergamot opening notes: Citrus accord, Fern, Melon and Tangerine. These 4 notes form a burst of citrus freshness that gives the fragrance a clear opening statement.

When the opening settles you meet Freesia, Lemon, Lemon Verbena, Marine accord and Rhubarb carrying a pure citrus-floral direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Fruit without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Musc, Wood and Marine add depth to the backdrop.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Green, Fruit and Floral. The palette also extends to Aquatic, Wood, Balsamic and Musk.

In summary CK One Summer (2011) sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the scent structures best experienced on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. This fragrance is just AWFUL. Sweet, yet fresh, as if someone decided to mix water with sugar. No individuality, absolutely boring and faceless. There's no longevity, it feels like I just sprayed water on myself. A complete disappointment

What a fragrance this is! It just blows your mind with its persistent marine freshness, which, unfortunately, seems too chemical. Melon adds a bit of sweetness, but then there's this acidity. It spoils the whole impression. I can't say it's my favorite

Sour citruses with sea water - that's just a nightmare. As it develops, some cloying sweetness appears, like overripe, withered fruits. I didn't like the fragrance at all, it's terribly unpleasant. I don't understand how anyone can wear this
