Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

After getting acquainted with the amazing Nin-Shar by Jul et Mad, created by Sidonie Lancesseur, I thought the rose question was closed for me. But then Paris Izmir reminded me again not to jump to conclusions! This perfumed rose, bright and solemn, intertwines with delicate jasmine - a true harmony of flowers in one unassuming bottle. They, like lovers, rest on a sweetish-balsamic base of benzoin and sandalwood. Of course, amber and patchouli were indispensable, as how could a rose composition of oriental style be without them? But even a description cannot convey all the beauty of this fragrance. There's nothing superfluous here, everything is assembled with incredible attention to detail. No sweetness, no blackcurrant. And although the "rose-amber-frankincense" combination is not new, Paris Izmir is proof that the creator had a high goal and a wonderful idea. I didn't call it solemn for nothing - it truly is, and also quite languid and exquisite. The world around us is often rough and clumsy; it needs such refined beauty to somehow save it!!! Paris Izmir is rarely worn outdoors. I prefer to apply it to sheets, pillows, and the collar of my burgundy robe, allowing my inner hedonist to emerge. Although it can also be successfully worn out to impress others. Impossible, divine beauty

Paris-Izmir is my personal favorite. I can't quite explain why it captivated me so much, but for the second week now, it's become my favorite home fragrance. This composition clearly pays homage to Eastern culture, where rose is considered an important perfumery element. Interestingly, in Arab tradition, rose is a masculine flower, and fragrances with it are usually intended for men. I don't know if this stereotype has survived to this day, but I can't bring myself to call Paris-Izmir a masculine fragrance; it's clearly created according to French canons.

First and foremost, rose with amber is felt here, but it's not like anything I've tried before. Thanks to the thick honey, which seems to spread over the petals, the flower turns out to be orientally rich, yet slender and light due to a dry fruity tartness. Jasmine, which the perfumer added to the composition, also plays an important role. It not only supports the fruity notes but also emphasizes the amber accord, creating a floral-woody direction. Jasmine intertwines with rose, forming a classic pair, but there's one thing - the fragrance is not sweet. At all. Neither rose, nor amber with benzoin and myrrh, nor jasmine, nor fruits, nor honey - the perfumer seems to have deliberately removed any sweetness from each component.

Yet, the fragrance doesn't seem dried out or gloomy. Perhaps it's precisely the perfumer's skill, who managed to create an oriental composition, avoiding excessive density and brightness, while maintaining layering and richness, that was the reason I chose it. Patchouli also plays an important role in Paris-Izmir. In the end, we get two oriental pairs: rose/amber and rose/patchouli, but among all the fragrances I've tried, none is presented so elegantly and juicy

A scent based on roses and resins. It's really rich, sweetish, and attractive. It holds an important place in my collection. It's a shame the bottle is almost empty, but perhaps I'll buy it again because I like it so much!!!

The longevity of this fragrance is impressive, especially when the air is warm - it starts to sound more persistent. Rose, myrrh, and patchouli are clearly at the forefront here. This is an oriental fragrance that creates an atmosphere of meditation and relaxation, enveloping with its sound and bringing harmony. Simply incredible!!

The rose is sweet, with notes of resin and patchouli. Sandalwood and freesia are not noticeable. The fragrance is truly warm, embracing and creates coziness. The rose here is simply wonderful 🌹

This scent is primarily about rose, but freesia here seems to try to overpower everything. Resins, yes, they are noticeable, but only at the very end, when the fragrance is already fading. By the way, the longevity is excellent

Paris Izmir is a combination that truly impresses. The East, with its sophistication, seems to embrace French charm. A captivating fragrance, with a beautiful rose surrounded by soft amber and myrrh. You want to inhale it endlessly, forgetting your preferences for chypre or citrus notes. This perfume, in my opinion, would deserve the name Sensuelle. Despite its oriental roots, it's light and versatile, making it suitable for any occasion. The longevity is simply excellent, and the sillage is a whole other story, it's truly enchanting. Unisex? Why not, it suits everyone

The rose in this fragrance is like it's enveloped in a sweet cloud, but there's also a slight hint of nail polish or acetone, like in Cartier La Panthere. Patchouli and resins add depth, creating an impressive sillage. This perfume really stands out and grabs attention 🎉

Eastern Europe. A spicy, sweet, and soft fragrance. Sandalwood and rose especially stand out, they're simply mesmerizing. Longevity is excellent, the sillage is simply luxurious, alluring and enveloping

The Orient here is unbearably boring. Bergamot is too bright, and rose is just annoying. Myrrh with patchouli creates some oppressive atmosphere, and sandalwood adds nothing but a feeling of heaviness. The scent seems too dense and intrusive, the sillage just presses on your brain. Longevity, of course, is there, but that doesn't make it any better

Rose, patchouli, and resins - nothing special, at first glance. But despite that, the work is done at a high level. If you like such combinations, it's worth trying. The fragrance is truly high-quality, and its longevity is simply outstanding. I can't say it blew me away, but I can't dismiss it either

There's no honey here, but its presence is felt. Golden, like sunlight, it transforms into refined oriental delicacies. Warmth and richness, like amber, envelop with their charm

This fragrance doesn't quite fit into the usual oriental canons. Usually, when I hear "oriental," I imagine something rich, with bright spices, but here everything is somehow gentle and calm. The opening notes and rose seem to give it a special sophistication 🌸

The fragrance truly impresses with its complexity and femininity. On the skin, it unfolds with rose notes, framed by the tartness of bergamot and the lightness of freesia. Over time, a sweet honey note appears, although it's not in the description, it's very clearly felt. The base of the fragrance is woody with patchouli, which gives it depth and character. Overall, it's an interesting and harmonious choice for those who appreciate rich scents 🌹

The fragrance is simply amazing! It's like it envelops you in the soft sweetness of rose, and patchouli adds an interesting accent. Spices and sandalwood make it multifaceted, and smoky notes give it mystery. A true inspiration! 🌹
