Chanel launched Cuir de Russie in 2016 — and it was a brilliant move. A feminine fragrance belonging to the leather family. Conceived and brought to life by perfumer Jacques Polge. By character, it falls into the leather, wood, and floral groups. The palette of this fragrance is exceptionally rich: traces of citrus and balsamic can also be found — a rare combination that makes this perfume truly one of a kind. From the Exclusifs de Chanel Eau de Parfum collection; released as eau de parfum.

Expect a extremely noticeable sillage: present enough to be remembered. On clothing, 1-2 sprays are the recommended amount. A single bottle goes a long way: longevity is very high. Description of the composition

The composition of Cuir de Russie is shaped as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Chanel comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

As soon as the fragrance opens you catch sparkling citrus opening notes: Bergamot and Orange blossom.

At the core of development you detect Jasmine, Rose, Tobacco and ylang-ylang holding a creamy tuberose direction.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Wood without random overlap. Background accords such as Leather expand the olfactory volume in the background. The profile is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. For persistence Very high suggests confident staying power.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Leather. The palette also extends to Wood and Whiteflower.

Citrus notes from the past, with a slight hint of leather, create an interesting combination with creamy florals and a classic vanilla-amber accord. The fragrance turned out smoky-floral, and it really feels on the skin. A complex composition where different notes seem to intertwine, creating a unique sound. Birch, perhaps, adds an interesting accent. Floral notes are represented by ylang, which is very bright, as well as jasmine and rose. Quality resins and tobacco are present, adding depth. This perfume will definitely appeal to those who appreciate smoky scents, but not as a light cloud, but rather as the remnants of embers

The fragrance is truly impressive, it's as if it was created for a confident woman. I think it would be perfect for a lady aged 35-40. There's something solemn and self-sufficient about it, even a little provocative, but there's a charm in that.
