Sycomore Chanel: Elegance in a Bottle

In 2008, the world of perfumery was enriched by an outstanding creation — Chanel Sycomore, an eau de toilette that instantly won the hearts of connoisseurs.

This fragrance, released under the aegis of the legendary Chanel, reflects the brand's philosophy based on elegant simplicity and boldness.

Sycomore is part of the prestigious Les Exclusifs de Chanel collection, designed for those seeking unique and refined scents.

Positioned as a women's fragrance, Sycomore in practice demonstrates versatility, attracting men with its restrained strength.

It belongs to the woody, musky, and floral families, making it multifaceted and intriguing for various scenarios — from autumn walks to evening events.

Masters Behind the Scent: The Genius of Sheldrake and Polge

The creation of Sycomore is the result of collaboration between two titans of perfumery art: Christopher Sheldrake and Jacques Polge.

Their joint work brought depth and innovation to the fragrance, characteristic of Chanel's high class.

Sheldrake, known for his skill with woody chords, and Polge, a master of complex compositions, created a perfume that became a jewel in the brand's crown, emphasizing its reputation as a house unafraid to experiment with classic notes.

How to Wear Sycomore: Usage Tips

Sycomore has a moderate sillage, making it ideal for daily use — it won't be intrusive but will leave a subtle trace.

For optimal effect, we recommend 1 to 2 sprays on the skin and the same amount on clothing.

This fragrance is perfect for cool seasons, autumn and winter, as well as for evening outings, adding mystery and chic to your look.

If you're looking for alternative concentrations, check out other versions of Chanel Sycomore, though this eau de toilette remains a classic choice for many, combining wearability with a rich character.

Fragrance Character: From First Impression to Base Notes

Sycomore opens with fresh and spicy accents, gradually revealing woody and floral notes in the heart, and leaves a warm, musky sillage in the base.

Its composition is a harmony of vetiver, sandalwood, and spices, creating an image of a refined forest that captivates from the first breath and lingers in memory.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I wear this fragrance constantly, and it's great even for summer days, though for me it's more autumnal. This is definitely my pick! It has simply amazing vetiver, and the aldehydes are so light and weightless that I always feel them. I just adore the cypress! I can't figure out what exactly creates this effect - maybe it's the combination of juniper berries and spices? The scent of mustardy grapefruit peel is very long-lasting, staying on my skin for up to 8 hours (that's how long it lasts), and even longer on clothes. Its sillage is moderately noble. I'll always be grateful to these two perfumery masters: J. Polge and C. Sheldrake )

Chanel's fragrance really stands out from the rest. Its inconsistency sparks curiosity, there's something mysterious about it. My impressions of it are contradictory, but I can definitely say it grabs attention 😮

The fragrance is really beautiful, but it's hard to describe. You hear one thing, then another in it. However, in the Chanel collection, it definitely stands out. I recommend getting to know it

How much I adore this scent! It's simply magical, and combined with a hair mist, it's incredible! I wear it to work every day, and it lifts my spirits. Sometimes young girls come in and ask, "What is that, valerian?" Well, what can you expect from them if they're used to Mexx, which doesn't even come close to real perfumes 😄

Chanel fragrances always evoke nostalgia in me. This bitterish freshness with aldehydes and spices seems to remind me of something long gone. It doesn't press, doesn't interfere, but the longevity is simply impressive!!! It feels like every breath hides a story that can no longer be brought back

I dreamt about it for a long time. The name just drew me in))) But, of course, you have to wait a bit for it to unfold. The impression it leaves is amazing: so cozy and unobtrusive, as if it's not a perfume, but your own natural scent

This fragrance really stands out among others. It's warm, woody, and very playful, which makes it a favorite for me. It suits both warm autumn and cool summer. I can't say it's similar to other Chanel fragrances; for me, it's something completely new and more captivating

It's strange that there are so few opinions about such a popular fragrance. To be honest, this isn't one of those times where I exclaim, "This is it, my choice!" Sycomore requires time to understand it. Perhaps it's the aldehydes - I'm not a fan of these notes, although in Chanel they sound simply magnificent to me 😔

This scent is simply amazing. It suits me perfectly, I feel 100% myself in it. When I apply it, I can't stop inhaling it from my wrist, my head even starts to spin from the excess oxygen 😅 It lasts on my skin from morning till evening, but after six it becomes closer to the skin

Complex and subtle scent, oh come on, it's like being on a beach in Montenegro in August. It smells of pine, sure, but so heated up it's nauseating. Sea and sand, yes, but I'm not thrilled with this smell. Long-lasting, good sillage, you get compliments, but it's not always pleasant. Warm, useless, but supposedly expensive. For me, maybe the best of modern ones, but not for everyone. On skin it sits fine, but on fur in winter - that's just awful, it shimmers strangely 😒

One autumn evening, when my friend and I went into a cafe, I first smelled this scent. It has a kind of medicinal bitterness, which is perfect for late autumn. On my friend's warm skin, this fragrance unfolds completely differently, and that's really intriguing!
