Part of the N°5 collection, it embodies a classic that continues to inspire generations, remaining relevant even today.

Positioning and Wearability

Chanel №5 is positioned as a women's fragrance with a medium sillage, perfectly suited for various scenarios—from everyday elegance to special evenings.

Description of the composition

The pyramid of Chanel No. 5 begins with sparkling aldehydes, which create a champagne effect, complemented by citrus accents of bergamot and lemon, as well as floral notes of neroli and ylang-ylang.

At the heart of the composition, a rich bouquet unfolds with iris, jasmine, lily of the valley, and rose, imparting tenderness and depth to the fragrance.

The base is anchored with warm and sensual chords: amber, civet, oakmoss, patchouli, vanilla, vetiver, and musk, creating a long-lasting and cozy finish.

This complex structure makes Chanel No. 5 a multifaceted and eternally relevant fragrance, where each note plays its role in a harmonious ensemble, belonging to the aldehyde and floral families.

The debate still rages on, and there's plenty to talk about here. Some believe status is defined by expensive furs and jewelry, while others focus on age. I've noticed an interesting thing: Chanel really unfolds better in pure perfume. To understand the full charm of the fragrance, you need to wear it, to let it sink in. The perfume, though less noticeable, creates an intimate atmosphere, and the sillage isn't as intrusive. It's complex, requiring time for full development, as its density is high. In our fast-paced world, it's easier to just spray eau de parfum and rush off, but pure perfumes don't tolerate haste. Such fragrances demand good perception or at least practice. Yes, you need to grow into Chanel perfumes, but it's not about age or status, it's about experience. And then everyone can feel their essence. Whether you like it or not - that's another question, a matter of taste. But to not notice the beauty with an experienced nose is simply impossible. Though, of course, this is just my subjective opinion)))

No matter how hard I tried to approach it, I can't stand it for more than five minutes. I wash it off, scrub it off, I do everything. Maybe after an hour or two it opens up like the classics, but I just don't have the strength to tolerate this HORRIBLE stench! It's time to take it off the shelves, this smell is just a nightmare!

Chanel No. 5 for me is not just a fragrance, but a reminder of how beautiful things once were. It's like grandma's chest of drawers, full of mothballs. You read enthusiastic reviews and marketing tricks, and then you go and try a tester - and you just stand there in shock! 😳 How could such a stench be created? It seems Chanel masterfully makes us think the problem is with us, not with their ancient creation. I agree with Roberta - this fragrance, like a myth, has long lost its relevance

If you haven't grasped the essence of the fragrance, that's normal. You need to approach Chanel N°5 with patience, like a good wine. This scent is simply enchanting! ✨

The fragrance is really interesting. It requires a special atmosphere, time, and even style. Everything around needs to match its mood 😊

This fragrance, undoubtedly, possesses crystal clarity and longevity, but alas, it seems too overused. The quality, of course, is top-notch, but its beauty no longer brings joy, rather it causes bitterness. Why should we accept something so hackneyed as a standard? I want something unique, not just another "classic" option. Why do we need an ideal when we can find something with character

With this fragrance, new inspiration comes to me. It's like my saving discovery. Although at first glance, it's not so simple. I feel how it fills me. For those who haven't grasped its essence, remember: Chanel N°5, like a good wine, needs to be approached with patience. It's truly a CAPTIVATING, magical scent!

At first, I avoided this perfume, hearing that it resembled grandma's perfume. But, you know, everything turned out completely different! This fragrance is truly beautiful, though not everyone will be able to fully appreciate it. It's multifaceted and rich, with floral-aldehydic notes, a bit powdery and dusty. It has its own individuality and character, which makes it special

Legendary fragrance, you say? For me, it turned out to be a real disappointment. Since childhood, I dreamed of it, imagining it was something magical. As a teenager, these perfumes seemed like a symbol of success and femininity, like an expensive handbag. But when I finally tried it, all I could say was: "Ugh, it smells like grandma!" 😩 Tears of resentment welled up when I realized my dream was shattered. Many years have passed, and I still can't understand what's so special about it. For me, it's too heavy and old-fashioned, like stale air in an abandoned house. Alas, that's just how it is

This fragrance is simply universal! Any time of year, even in rainy weather, it's always appropriate. Every time I smell it on someone, my mood lifts. Its sillage is so rich and multifaceted, it's simply impossible not to enjoy

Patchouli is a natural aphrodisiac that's great for women, and ylang-ylang is for men. In these exquisite perfumes, there's more ylang-ylang than patchouli. For me, it's unisex, but on men, they sound especially beautiful. Imagine: a man in a tweed jacket in autumn, and it's just perfect (some creative guys actually do that)! There's a cologne note in them, and in the best sense, a chypre cologne quality that we girls sometimes need so much. I love to feel their light sillage on my coat in autumn, although I prefer to apply perfume only to the skin, but with these elegant fragrances, it's a different story. These are more classic chypre perfumes than some hard-to-perceive retro scents. You feel especially elegant, even flawless, in them. Complex, warm, tart, chypre, floral-woody - they are very wearable and not overpowering. If you don't like marigolds, then most likely these perfumes won't suit you either; although they aren't a copy, they are indeed similar in mood to those flowers

As old as this fragrance is, so are the conversations about it. It seems you need to grow up to understand it. As children, we all gravitated towards sweet scents, and then we looked for something more serious. Our mothers and grandmothers had completely different preferences. This fragrance, without a doubt, reminds me of grandmas, specifically those who are already quite old, with character and authority. If these were just another perfume, would they be discussed so actively

Chanel N°5 by Chanel is a true classic. In the top notes, you can feel neroli and bergamot, as well as aldehydes, which give the fragrance freshness. The middle notes delight with jasmine, lily of the valley, and rose, while iris root adds depth. In the base notes, you can catch vetiver, amber, vanilla, and patchouli, creating a rich sillage. But what really makes this fragrance stand out is the wild lily of the valley, which seems to emphasize the entire composition 🌸

The fragrance in question really sparks a lot of debate. Among my perfumista friends, a real battle of opinions once broke out - some believe it's just a grandma's perfume with excessive hype, while others admire its beauty and claim it's made for young girls. To be honest, I'm somewhere in the middle. Although I'm not so young anymore, for a certain look, No. 5 can add seriousness and elegance to me. But if I went back to my twenties, I'd look quite strange in it. In my opinion, this fragrance suits mature and confident women. I won't break it down into notes; it's too complex and at the same time cohesive. This perfume doesn't create an image, but merely complements an existing one, and it's important to match it so as not to look silly. It needs grooming, style, and a bit of audacity for the perfect combination 😏

This fragrance, which I've tolerated for many years, only causes me bewilderment. How can this classic thing be considered timeless? To me, it resembles powder in some tasteless gold packaging. No freshness, just heaviness and oppression. I don't understand how anyone can love it
