Korean Perfumery: How K-Beauty Came to Fragrances
At first, the world fell in love with Korean creams and sheet masks. Then it was the turn of scent, ...
Commodity is a brand that began its journey on Kickstarter and has achieved cult status. In 2017, the brand launched the Platinum Collection, which included the unisex fragrance Vetiver.
This is an eau de parfum with a very strong sillage, belonging to the woody fragrance family. It was created for anyone who appreciates bold, memorable compositions.
Caroline Sabas, a perfumer with a unique vision of woody accords, worked on the creation of Vetiver. She wanted to present vetiver not as dry and austere, but as soft and sensual.
The result exceeded expectations: a golden, incredibly delicate yet refreshing fragrance that feels like an ode to nature.
The fragrance opens with an explosion of juicy fruits: crisp apple and slightly tart blackberry, wrapped in luxurious peony (Petalia).
At the heart of the composition, two varieties of jasmine—classic jasmine and sambac—bloom, adding velvety spice and sensuality.
Gradually, the floral theme gives way to a warm woody base: sandalwood lends creamy softness, patchouli brings seductive depth, cedar adds transparent resinous facets, while the star of the composition—vetiver—introduces a dry, smoky trail that lasts for hours.
Thanks to its unisex positioning and very strong sillage, Vetiver suits both men and women who enjoy bold yet elegant fragrances.
It is ideal for cool weather and evening outings. One or two sprays on the wrists or clothing are enough to surround you with a refined cloud of scent.
If you love Commodity Vetiver, consider Givenchy Dahlia Divin, which is more floral but similarly juicy; Salvatore Ferragamo Gilio (2019) with woody-spicy accents; and Balmain Extatic Intense Gold for lovers of rich oriental nuances.
The fragrance is very long-lasting, staying on the skin for 12 hours or more, gradually revealing its notes
The scent will linger in the air even after its wearer has left.
The perfume has a rich aroma that will help you stand out from the crowd and create a memorable image
A rich and elegant fragrance that gently unfolds on the skin and lasts most of the day, leaving a delicate trail
Perfumes for the fall and winter seasons often contain notes of vanilla, spices, ambergris, wood, and other warm accords, creating a feeling of comfort and warmth during the cold months
The fragrance pyramid is built on contrasts: the top notes feature juicy apple, tart blackberry, and delicate peony.
The heart is devoted to two types of jasmine—classic jasmine and sambac—which lend a velvety spiciness.
The base is a warm woody blend of cedar, patchouli, creamy sandalwood, and dry, smoky vetiver. It is vetiver that gives the fragrance its character—noble and sensual.
