How pleasant it is to talk about Tam Dao! This fragrance is truly unique; it's like it transports you back to childhood, to those warm memories of Vietnam. The scent of freshly cut cedar, light cinnamon, a barely perceptible sandalwood, and refreshing myrtle create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. It's not a loud fragrance, but rather a quiet yet deep one, like a light mist over green forests. It didn't become a bestseller in 2020, but that's its charm - in how it makes you think of people who aren't quick to speak but have a lot of interesting things inside. A true oriental masterpiece!

Tam Dao by Diptyque, released in 2003, evokes mixed feelings in me. On the one hand, it combines sandalwood, cypress, and cedar, like Wonderwood, but here there's something warmer and spicier 🌿 The floral accent of rose adds an interesting touch, creating light associations with Concrete by Comme des Garcons.

But the coniferous note, which is usually found in incenses, gives it a special depth 🌞 It feels as if this scent is warmed by the summer sun, truly creating a meditative effect. There's something relaxing and calming about it, but at the same time, a mystery remains as to whether I like it or not 🤔

I don't know about the eau de toilette, but the eau de parfum simply disappointed me. The woody scent is there, of course, but it's somehow heavy and oppressive. I feel no peace, only discomfort. It's hard to call it light!! I don't recommend it

Concentration really plays an important role. This eau de toilette is more like a sharp cologne with woody notes. It's quite simple and rough, and it seems to need very warm skin to fully develop. Otherwise, it remains flat, not reaching the mystical depth of its more intense counterpart. Oh, how long I've dreamed of it, even just a tiny vial, and now, finally, it's happened! There are two concentrations: EDT and EDP, and they are truly two completely different things. I would never have thought that the EDT could be so far from the EDP. This version smells like some unexpressive wood, as if it were doused in unrefined sunflower oil. No play in the fragrance, just monotonous oil. Honestly, I'm a bit shocked by this, but the perfume redeemed itself in the form of the EDP - that's where the real bliss is! Definitely try both options before buying

This scent, like a gentle breeze, penetrates the consciousness with transparent woody accents and barely perceptible spices. Sometimes a sweetish undertone appears, adding mystery. But this haze, it disappears from the skin after just a couple of hours, and I lose it. I don't know how others perceive it, but for me, it vanishes. Overall, the scent is pleasant and airy, but its longevity is clearly not all it should be 😕

I've loved sandalwood since childhood. I remember my dad giving my mom a necklace of sandalwood elephants, but she didn't like the smell and quickly hid them, then gave them to my sister. Growing up, I started looking for a perfume with that scent. Tom Ford and Etro almost fit, but Tam Dao is the closest to the original. It evokes real tactile sensations of wood in your hands. So calming, detached, just pure zen. And the elephants, by the way, are with me now, but they hardly smell, they're over 30 years old. I'll douse them with Tam Dao
