Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Neroli 36 is built as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The signature of Le Labo is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

The profile is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. In wear duration High points to a sustained drydown presence. In diffusion Very weak describes the way the scent radiates.

As soon as the fragrance opens you detect fantasy sparkling first notes: Aldehydes, Mandarin and Orange blossom.

In the central layer you notice Jasmine and Rose holding a silky white floral direction. At the foundation the composition is fixed through Tonka bean, Vanilla and musk, extending a amber-spicy trail.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Fairy, Whiteflower, Citrus and Floral. The framework further includes Spicy, Gourmet and Musk. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to East and Floral.

In summary Neroli 36 holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, while the drydown anchors the memory. This is the type of composition best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

If you imagine that meadow clover, blooming in summer, suddenly acquired the scent of vanilla orange, then perhaps Neroli 36 would be its ideal embodiment. The scent is fresh, floral-green, with tart notes of bitter orange essential oil, but honestly, it's not quite what I expected from Daphné Bugey's work. The composition is clearly white floral, and besides orange blossom, you can detect pure jasmine, aquatic notes of lily of the valley, lily, and creamy tuberose. For a moment, I even thought I heard echoes of narcissus. But then, a generous dose of amyl salicylate creates the illusion of clover and adds a touch of old-fashionedness. In my opinion, there's too much amyl salicylate in Neroli 36, and it interacts with the musk accord in the drydown, creating a singular, albeit not entirely convincing, soapy neroli nuance. Neroli's soapiness is usually clean and natural, but in Neroli 36, it seems heavy, musky, and a bit synthetic. Perhaps this is due to the impressive longevity of the fragrance, although neither the neroli theme, nor the orange blossom, nor the complex white floral bouquet are fully revealed. Nevertheless, for lovers of unusual clean scents who want to feel not only the freshness of a washed body and clean clothes, Neroli 36 can be a sweetish-floral option that is truly versatile

Neroli, of course, isn't bad, but this particular scent. It's somehow too cold and prickly, like it's stuck in a freezer! At first, it seems clean, but then this sweetness emerges, and it's not so pleasant anymore. It smells somewhat strange, shimmering, but ultimately it feels like just one note, and nothing more!! I don't know, maybe someone likes it, but it didn't work for me
