The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Fig is something special. Honestly, I've never been a fan of fig tree scents, but Sine Die surprised me. The base is simply gorgeous: sweet-woody, as if soaked in sunbeams, yet long-lasting. Wearing it is a pleasure, and I can't quite figure out if I like it or not

Today, the French brand LM Parfums has unfortunately lost its popularity in Russia, but this is not due to the quality of its fragrances - they truly deserve attention. Creative director Laurent Mazzone's products remind me of a combination of Tom Ford and Serge Lutens' styles: from the former, longevity and brightness, and from the latter, drama and interesting stories. Although Sine Die is not a bestseller, it has become my favorite, especially during the summer.

This fragrance is like a ripe fig, even slightly overripe, with a milky sweetness and a slight saltiness. Perfumer Jérôme Epinette created it using a violet-suede accord and woody amber. But the most important thing is the fruits: bright and juicy, they seem to awaken and fill you with energy. They are laid in a basket of sedge, on which there are already drops of human blood. The greenery here is 'sharp', and the fruity explosion is softened by cucumber suede, as if cut by an amber scalpel.

The name Sine Die translates as 'without a day' or 'indefinitely', and only Laurent Mazzone knows what story this unusual, sometimes cruel, yet joyful fruity-green fragrance hides. It's perfect for a hot morning - instead of fruit juice, if you're watching your sugar, and it lasts beautifully all day. This beautiful fig-suede shimmer persists for at least ten hours even on hot days and will likely be with you during your evening shower. The fragrance doesn't invade others' personal space and remains noticeable only to its owner. Isn't that what's most important in perfumery?

This fig evokes associations with blueberries and blackcurrants, as well as herbal tea and violet leather. Epinette's signature is clearly traceable in this fragrance; it resembles Byredo's Pulp and even echoes the later 1900 L'Heure de Proust

At first, you feel a sweet, almost sticky fig, as if it's just been picked from a tree under the scorching sun. Then the tartness of grapefruit joins in, creating an interesting contrast. But soon this fruity riot subsides, and a mysterious haze emerges, enveloping everything around

Fig with green leaves and a slightly tart opening from grapefruit. Sometimes there's a light powderiness, but no leather here, more like slightly dry suede with a powdery coating. You could say it reminds of Colette X, but that one has a more layered sound

What a TRICKSTER he is! Instead of starting with the fig that's so tempting from the bottle, it suddenly gives off leather wrapped in powder, and sweet, lingering amber notes. From the very first accords, this fragrance seems to have flipped, leaving behind a mystery

This fig really delights, it's fresh and natural, not that awful dried one I can't stand 🍈 At first, the scent fills you with energy and lightness, it's truly captivating! But then the drydown... it becomes too heavy and detached, as if thoughts carry you away to another reality 🤔

The scent is simply incredible, lasts a long time and leaves a gorgeous sillage 🌟
