Identity of Sensual M. Micallef

The perfume Sensual by M. Micallef is a female fragrance released in 2016 and part of the collection Secrets of Love.

The brand, founded in 1996 in Grasse by artist Martine Micallef and her husband Geoffrey Nejman, aims to blur the line between art and perfumery, creating unique compositions that reflect the spiritual heritage of the French capital of fragrances.

Character and Positioning

The female perfume Sensual is presented in the concentration of Perfume Water and belongs to the Floral and Woody families.

Its languid and thrilling character envelops with a soft, pulsating aromatic veil, perfectly suited for romantic evenings and special moments where elegance and depth are required.

How to Wear Sensual

The fragrance has a medium sillage that gently accompanies throughout the day.

For optimal development, use pointwise application on the skin in pulse zones, and for a more lasting effect, enter the cloud by spraying on clothing.

This approach will highlight its floral-woody harmony and make it complementary in any season.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Sensual M. Micallef begins with a refreshing start: galbanum, grapefruit, lemon and nutmeg create a cascade of citrus and spicy chords.

In the heart of the composition, delicate floral notes unfold: jasmine and orange blossom (neroli), offering a spicy-honey warmth.

The base of the fragrance is built on cozy and long-lasting chords: sandalwood, vanilla and musk form a velvety-creamy aftertaste that lingers for a long time.

This harmony of citrus, floral, and woody elements makes Sensual multifaceted and memorable, perfectly reflecting the citrus, spicy, woody, gourmand and musk note groups.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This scent reminded me of something familiar, perhaps it has similar variations. It's quite intense and a bit heavy. For special occasions, I think it would be perfect, but probably not for everyday wear 🌸

The scent, of course, isn't loud, but it's not memorable either. You need to study it to understand it. But, to be honest, the bottle is what really catches the eye. BEAUTY!

At first glance, the bottle looks very impressive and luxurious, but the scent inside disappointed me. The nutmeg is too intrusive, and the musk doesn't develop as I'd hoped 😕

I can't say this scent impressed me. It's too harsh and pungent. At the start, there's a strong citrus, and then white flowers appear, but they're somehow too intrusive. There's a certain dustiness in it, which doesn't add to its appeal. Looks like Micallef and I won't be friends )

Not long-lasting at all. Almost no sillage. It lasts on clothes, but on the skin - a complete failure. Although, of course, everyone has their own preferences. But the scent, yes, it's actually not bad! )
