About M. Micallef Puzzle No 2

Puzzle No 2 by M. Micallef is a true olfactory puzzle, released in 2014 as part of the Art 2014 collection.

This unisex fragrance in eau de parfum concentration invites you to create your own puzzle from vibrant notes and emotions.

It wears equally beautifully on both women’s and men’s skin, revealing its multifaceted character.

The composition belongs to the floral, musky, and woody fragrance families, while its moderate sillage makes it intriguing without being overpowering.

It is the ideal choice for those who appreciate complex yet harmonious compositions, where every element is perfectly placed.

The name Puzzle No 2 was chosen for a reason: the fragrance is dedicated to the art of creating a whole from separate pieces, much like relationships between people are built.

Paired with another fragrance from the collection, it creates a perfect duo, reminding us that love is also a puzzle worth putting together with someone special.

Description of the composition

The top notes greet us with a juicy duo of black currant and grapefruit, framed by the freshness of black currant leaf.

At the heart unfolds a lush bouquet of geranium, jasmine, vanilla, and vanilla orchid, where the berry accent of black currant returns.

The base offers the velvety warmth of cashmeran, white musk, musk, patchouli, and vetiver. This intricate composition plays with contrasts, from tart greenery to sweet vanilla and earthy woody notes.

The fragrance unfolds gradually, as if piecing together a puzzle, revealing new facets of mood with every passing hour.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This fragrance clearly features blackcurrant and its various nuances. Not only berries are present, but also the scent of fresh leaves. It's truly refreshing, suitable for spring and summer, has a slight coolness, and is simply magnificent

This is simply a treasure for lovers of blackcurrant leaf scent! Here, you really feel the leafy accent, as if you're holding fresh twigs and buds in your hands. The fragrance is truly pleasant, reminiscent of cold blackcurrant tea. Vetiver adds a slight "dustiness," making the blackcurrant note sound very natural and green, not sweet. This fragrance isn't cloying, so I think it will be great even in the heat

I had the impression I was looking for the summer freshness of blackcurrant, and it seemed I found it in Malone perfumes, but in reality, I discovered Micallef. This fragrance reminds me of blackcurrant branches; it's fresh, but upon dry-down, it becomes very soft and voluminous. Unfortunately, it sits too close to the skin. I wish everyone around could smell this scent, not just me sniffing it from my wrist
