Description of the composition

The scent of Esprit du Roi is shaped as a layered story, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The style of Penhaligon's is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette sets the depth and body this composition needs.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral and Fruit with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Musc, Wood, Amber and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is masculine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

Right at the start you catch radiant lemon-bergamot opening notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Cardamom and Citrus accord.

In the middle phase you meet Clove, Geranium, Jasmine, honeysuckle and ylang-ylang keeping a velvety rose-iris direction.
