Fragrance information:

The world first encountered Bois Noir by Robert Piguet in 2012. A unisex fragrance rooted in the wood family. The author of this composition is Aurelien Guichard, and that explains a lot. From the Modern collection; released as eau de parfum.

It carries a extremely noticeable sillage, leaving a trail that lingers in the air. Apply with care — the longevity is very high, and this one means business. Produced in France, and you can feel it in every note. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Bois Noir is shaped as a layered story, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Robert Piguet is clear in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum keeps a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Wood, Balsamic and Musk. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to Wood.

At the opening of the pyramid you sense clean cedar opening notes: Guaiac wood and White Cedar.

When the opening settles you sense Patchouli and Sandalwood keeping a spicy-woody direction.

The accord architecture is shaped by these accords: Balsamic, Musc and Wood with each one in a clear role. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. In longevity terms Very high indicates a stable lasting impression. In trail behavior Extremely noticeable describes the way the scent radiates.

In summary Bois Noir sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance pyramid is incorrectly listed. The scent is primarily woody, dense, and resinous, with a slight masculine heaviness. It's truly beautiful, I like it, but I don't think I'm ready for it yet :) For the cold season, in my opinion, it's a good option )
