Description of the composition

The composition of Calypso Eau de Parfum evolves as a layered story, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Robert Piguet is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

At the opening of the pyramid you detect petal-airy opening notes: Geranium and Mandarin.

In the central layer you sense Iris and Rose holding a harmonious floral direction.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Wood and Powdery forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Amber and Leather add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In wear duration Low indicates a stable lasting impression.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Floral, Citrus, Ambery and Wood. The framework further includes Leather, Gourmet and Whiteflower.

In summary Calypso Eau de Parfum holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.
Persistence
Low (1 to 2 hours)
2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This perfume is truly impressive. The rose in it, though a bit withered, looks very beautiful. It reminds me of Juliette from Lady Vengeance, but there's less musk here. The composition is richer, and the base smells somewhat more expensive. Overall, it leaves a feeling of sadness and nostalgia ))

This fragrance brings back memories of the black del Pozo I once wore. Of course, this is a more luxurious and expensive version, but alas, the theme still seems overly cliché to me. Liqueur notes, a smoky nuance, and some plastic note - all of this evokes sadness and longing for what can no longer be brought back

I bought a sample to test, and honestly, the fragrance pleasantly surprised me! It's sweetish, with a warm and persistent undertone, creating incredible excitement. For an evening out - simply the perfect choice! ))

What attracts me most in this fragrance is the powdery, delicate rose that you feel in the base. When applied, I also catch geranium, but it smells somewhat bitter. Patchouli is also present, but there's so little of it that it feels like it wasn't enough. Although, maybe it's better not to add more! My decant ran out, and now I'm going to buy a full bottle. How sad is that!!!

The fragrance is indeed very concise, but there's something pleasant about it. It's so smooth, with a slight retro touch that adds to its charm. I like it)))

Let me just say, this fragrance isn't for those who only adore roses 🌹 The rose is here, of course, but the emphasis isn't that strong. On me, suede and leather notes are more prominent, and geranium sometimes even takes center stage. The scent is light and airy, but not sweet, rather with a slight bitterness from the geranium. Citrus freshness is also present, but overall it's somewhat melancholic, with hints of nostalgia. In short, I don't know how to describe it, but it's definitely not for everyone 😒
