Don't believe consultants when they start talking about pipe tobacco. In reality, it's green tobacco, a dense bush with stiff leaves and white flowers that look quite delicate. Benzoin resin and a powerful oud accord literally pull the rose to the forefront, which, hiding its forms in brocade folds, tries to say something, but no one is interested. In Denmark, I first encountered licorice, and it wasn't love at first sight. Initially, I felt disgusted, but then I suddenly realized I just couldn't live without it. Now licorice is my passion, although I don't like alcohol with it - licorice tinctures, in my opinion, are unsuccessful. In the perfume Brin de Réglisse, black licorice syrup gently embraces Provençal lavender. The result is an amazing fragrance that combines coolness and a slight saltiness. Before Francis Kurkdjian launched his own brand, he worked with Jean Paul Gaultier and Narciso Rodriguez. The 'for her' fragrance, created for the latter in collaboration with Christine Nagel, became a true icon and set the tone for women's floral perfumes for a whole decade. But 'for him' didn't have the same effect, and its release wasn't an 80s triumph-back then, fruity scents from Paco Rabanne and fresh compositions from Davidoff filled the cash registers. Krypton, Superman's planet, immediately comes to mind. And also, the mysterious Kryptos sculpture in the CIA courtyard in Langley keeps swirling in my head. Since 1990, no one has been able to decipher its code. This mint also seems to hide, appearing and disappearing, diving into a base of patchouli, chocolate, and caramel, deceiving. Ekaterina Khmelevskaya described it as «dark chocolate with mint and strong shaving foam,» and said it's worth «getting, even if it seems strange at first» Yesterday I didn't catch the shaving foam, but today it reminded me of itself. A*Men Kryptomint is really strange. Everyone loves to say «unique» now, but this is exactly the case - I haven't encountered the combination of mint, chocolate, geranium, and cedar anywhere else. I'm convinced that the main thing is not the ingredients, but the way it's made. I thought I hated geranium, but here it doesn't bother me at all 🌿
