This fragrance is a true classic that never loses its relevance. I first smelled it on an acquaintance, and although it's considered masculine, I liked it so much that I would gladly wear it myself. When I opened a gift set of miniatures, it was like a revelation - I was completely smitten. It's a lifelong love. I remember buying the biggest bottle at a London duty-free many years ago, and I still can't get enough of it 😔
I tried this fragrance without any expectations, and honestly, that was the right decision. The blackcurrant note intrigued me, but many claim it smells like blackcurrant jam. I don't perceive that at all. For me, blackcurrant appears only as dried leaves brewed with other herbs in a teapot. This fragrance is more about the gifts of the forest than the forest itself. It reminds me of cedar nut shells and pine resin that turns into chewy candies. The scent of dried pine and oak bark is also present here. And a licorice decoction adds such an enveloping sweetness that greets me from the very beginning. I'm not sure the fragrance is connected to Russian folklore or the forest; in my opinion, it's more about a balm than a living forest and blackcurrant 🍃
This fragrance, along with Kenzo pour Homme, became a true symbol of the 90s for me. It doesn't matter that I most often encountered it on men who were a decade older than me. I bought the coveted bottle and was thrilled - the lemon accord is simply mesmerizing! It's a feeling like a cold shower down your spine and clarity in your head. Perfect for student years. Even now, CK One continues to inspire with its optimism and lightness. All these endless flankers - they're not it, the original is still unmatched
An Oud-European in a suit, with a starched shirt, looks quite prim and proper. Even old-fashioned, buttoned up all the way. If you expected to smell the natural scent of oud essential oil, it's not here. But for fougère lovers, its strictness and classicism might be to their taste
After reading so many reviews, I decided this scent would definitely make me fall in love with vetiver. I admit, it's not my favorite note in perfumery. But what if a miracle happens? People describe their feelings so deliciously - beautiful vetiver, juicy cold citruses, wonderful pepper. Sounds exciting, but apparently not for me. On my skin, Black Vetiver revealed itself as the fiery spice of cloves, so real, like it just came out of a pickle jar. Spicy, bright, long-lasting - it clings on for dear life. And somewhere in the shadows, a modest vetiver quietly whistles. Such an unexpected twist - not at all what I expected 😅
For a second, I catch the magical scent of rose with a light wine accent. Behind it hides a fruity-leather note, where ripe cherry is felt, as if just picked from the tree. The berries turn into a sweet compote, their juicy pulp filling the air. The leather background sounds quite gentle. Sometimes, when choosing a bag in a store, you touch it, sniff it from the outside and inside, and notice how people around you look at you sideways. But the scent is really interesting, and you want to inhale it deeper. And here, the cherry compote teases, and you can almost hear the pits clicking. The warm and cozy smell evokes associations with happy childhood moments, with a feeling of safety. As if you secretly grabbed sweets from the sideboard while no one was looking, and are hiding in your shelter of chairs and blankets. Hmm, among the sweets, cloves and a sample of baby shampoo have snuck in - for a young adventurer, this is simply a treasure! On my skin, the fragrance starts bright and loud, and after 15 minutes it calms down, settling comfortably and inviting you to sniff again. Delicious, delicate, nostalgic ))
A summer morning at the dacha. I step out onto the porch, stretch, and feel the fresh breeze touch my skin, giving me goosebumps. The scent of living flowers from the flowerbeds fills the air, and immediately I feel the smell of a huge wild rose bush coming towards me. This bush probably evokes associations with summer in the countryside for many, with its bright pink flowers and the buzzing of bumblebees. One wants to wear the wild rose flower, like a living brooch, or put it in their hair and dance to flamenco rhythms. It seems to embody the joy of life, riotous blooming, and vibrant colors that are so alluring. This wild rose is the real deal, without excessive naturalism, without thorns or a hint of fruit. And it also reminds me of Soviet times - of a pink sachet hidden between clothes. I remember a collection of soaps of different shapes and colors in a wooden box on my mother's dressing table. A decorative soap basket, adorned with satin ribbons, - a gift from a daughter, made in a craft circle. The fragrance is delicate, girlish, with a woody-amber base that is so subtly felt. My husband immediately noticed it and singled it out among others, calling it the coolest. For me, Illusory Rose is a journey into childhood, the scent of women's secrets and hopes 🌸
