The Legend of Men's Perfumery

Imagine a fragrance that became a symbol of an era and redefined the very concept of men's perfumery. Aramis Aramis, released in 1966, is precisely such an icon.

Born under the shadow of the legendary House of Estée Lauder, this eau de toilette is part of the eponymous Aramis collection, becoming the first brand in history dedicated exclusively to men.

A bold move that challenged stereotypes, making Aramis Aramis a revolutionary release that still impresses with its audacity and elegance.

For Whom and How to Wear Aramis Aramis

This fragrance is positioned as male, but its universal chypre character attracts women seeking a confident, complex perfume.

With a medium trail, it is perfect for business meetings, evening outings, and cool seasons, offering warmth and charisma.

Although specific dosage recommendations are not given, for such a rich perfume, it is better to start with 2-3 sprays on the skin or clothing to enjoy its multifaceted development without overdoing it.

The Genius of Bernard Chant

Behind the creation of this masterpiece is the talent of Bernard Chant, a perfumer whose name is associated with classics and innovations.

His work on Aramis Aramis not only strengthened the brand's reputation as a pioneer in men's perfumery but also influenced an entire generation of fragrances, showing that men's perfumes can be as refined and complex as women's.

This release became a key moment in the history of Aramis, laying the foundation for future successes.

Description of the composition

The pyramid of Aramis Aramis begins with a bright start: aldehydes and bergamot bring freshness, complemented by floral notes of clover and gardenia, and thyme adds aromatic depth.

In the heart of the composition, delicate iris and jasmine unfold, balanced by earthy patchouli and spicy sage.

The base immerses into a warm, sensual world with coconut, leather accord, oakmoss, vetiver, and musk, creating an unforgettable finish that lasts for hours.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This fragrance reminds me of the vintage women's Azuree by Estée Lauder. It's a woody chypre with spicy notes. It has a noticeable amount of leather, oakmoss, patchouli, and aldehydes. The scent pyramid is indeed rich and diverse. However, the modern version seems less expressive compared to the original, which is, generally speaking, quite expected. If not compared to previous releases, it looks quite appealing on its own

I bought a decant, just out of curiosity. I'd often heard about it, and masculine fragrances always appealed to me. There's a lot in the pyramid, but for me, it's primarily moss, leather, and aldehydes. The leather isn't too prominent, and the aldehydes, by the way, are quite good. Yes, it's clearly something from the past, but it doesn't cause repulsion. Honestly though, I won't buy a full bottle, as not every man might like it. It's somehow sad to realize that such fragrances are fading into oblivion

The fragrance impressed me, even though it's a modern reformulation (110 ml from Switzerland). At first, it reminded me of Kouros' sharpness, with a slight animalic nuance. But after some time, Aramis becomes softer and more appealing. I detect notes of leather, oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, and clover. All this creates an alluring and beautiful shade. It brings to mind the character from \"The Three Musketeers\" - Aramis, so gallant and noble. This perfume evokes the same associations - refined and with history. I liked it, it should be in the collection 😔

Indeed, there's something in common with Devin, but this fragrance is much more intense and herbal. If Devin leaves a light, almost imperceptible trail, here bright herbal notes are felt from beginning to end. Aldehydes also didn't stay in the shadows, their influence is noticeable. There's no sweetness here at all, it's a pure classic chypre. Suitable for a mature man who knows what he wants from life and has rich experience behind him. A retro touch is clearly traceable, and that adds a special charm!!!

What a cool scent! The leather and nut notes sound simply amazing, even more powerful than I expected))) This chypre scent is just captivating… it's so rich!!!

A perfume clearly created for strong, self-assured men who have achieved a lot. Of all the Aramis scents I've tried, this one turned out to be the most memorable. But, alas, when I wore it, I felt that I didn't suit it. My age and lifestyle are no longer the same, and that brings sadness. Memories of how things used to be evoke longing
