This fragrance, often referred to as 'Aramis 900' in Russia, has become a symbol of elegance and courage, reflecting the spirit of the time when men's perfumery began to take on new dimensions.

Born under the auspices of the legendary House of Estée Lauder, Aramis has challenged stereotypes since 1964 by creating the first luxury fragrance line for men in history.

Its sillage is faintly perceptible, creating an intimate aura that does not overwhelm others but leaves a subtle trace of confidence and style.

The creative genius of Bernard Chant, a perfumer with an impeccable reputation, gave Aramis Aramis 900 its unique character.

Chant, known for his work on classical compositions, managed to harmoniously combine traditional and modern elements, making this fragrance a benchmark in its kind.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

My acquaintance with Aramis 900 was a real surprise for me. The person who ordered it was dissatisfied, and I became curious to try this fragrance. I remembered how long ago I smelled the old Aramis 900 from its classic bottle, and I had vague memories of it. I expected something vintage and classic, and the updated Aramis 900 did not disappoint!

Wow, how powerfully it started! Civet, coriander, and citrus literally exploded my senses! Sharp accords of geranium and jasmine sounded in the air, spices and flowers were added. Soon I caught something similar to vetiver, quiet and as if suppressed. And amber! A long, warm note of amber, even hot. The sensations are simply amazing! My skin felt warm, as if from a burn.

After some time, the fragrance became calmer, but the base notes continued to hum pleasantly. This hum made me want to experience this wonderful composition on myself again. Some "soapiness" appeared, but it was also pleasant. I was lucky: on me, Aramis 900 sounds very "clean," without falseness. No unpleasant notes, no lily of the valley. Rose and carnation don't stand out, and I don't smell rosewood at all.

After an hour, the fragrance becomes a little "soapy," but this "hum" of the base notes remains pleasant. The composition does not lose its integrity and sounds expressive for at least an hour. The sillage is short but powerful; the fragrance seems to "burn" on the skin, rather than just evaporating. It's ideal for walks in an autumn forest, for lifting your spirits in winter, or for an evening in a club with real gentlemen. In summer, it can be too heavy and suffocating!

Fans of civet and classic fragrances will be delighted: Aramis

The woody chypre scent with floral notes makes it more versatile than just men's colognes. Bright patchouli and delicate rose combine beautifully here, which is amazing, considering this fragrance is almost 50 years old! 🌸

The scent of oakmoss and patchouli, through which a note of rose breaks through. This perfume seems to sparkle, as if a light fizziness lingers in the air. It creates a festive atmosphere, yet feels like it hugs you, like a second skin. It doesn't knock you down with a shockwave, but leaves a bitter aftertaste

The fragrance is truly impressive, you can feel that there's experience behind it. Rose plays the main role here, and patchouli adds an interesting earthy nuance. Moss and flowers give it a slightly dirty undertone, which makes it more multi-layered. You can also catch other notes: geranium, carnation, coriander, amber with orris root, and a few more. The scent is dense and rich, more suitable for middle-aged men and older. Longevity is good, the sillage is not too intrusive. This is a classic that definitely deserves a place in a collection ))

Retro is retro. There are clearly a lot of lily of the valley and soapy notes here. It reminds me of women's Futur Piguet, but not as strict. The flowers are bright and rich. There's no sweetness, but in my opinion, there are too many flowers. I think this fragrance will appeal to those who appreciate the style of the Soviet era. I don't want to offend anyone, but in my view, it's more of a scent for older women than for men. Yes, it's supposed to be strong and strict, but I see it on a woman. If there are any spices, they are completely lost in this soapy-floral mass.

If we talk about Aramis 900, Aramis, and Aramis Devin, these are truly fragrances that can be called rustic, but in the best sense. The top notes remind me of Magie Noire - freshness, relaxation, and a sweetish undertone, but without that annoying lemon tartness. I haven't encountered anything similar in men's fragrances, except perhaps the distant Consul from Soviet times.

In the base, vetiver and moss unfold beautifully, but not so much as to overpower the citrus notes. The leather note is also very light. Throughout its wear, lily of the valley is constantly audible, which gives it a bit of femininity, but it's far from unisex. In hot weather, this fragrance will be simply ideal, and it's also long-lasting )

The fragrance is not bad, of course, but it's more of a classic than something new. I bought it blind, I'm not afraid to try rich perfumes that aren't always trendy. On me, it opens with a sharp rose and piercing carnation, and in the base, there's an interesting animalic note and sandalwood. I like it, but I'll wear it for myself, because modern fashionistas probably won't appreciate such a scent 😔
