Bergamote Soleil: Sunny Bergamot from Atelier Cologne

Imagine a moment of pure joy when sun rays touch the skin, and the freshness of ripe bergamot wafts through the air.

Exactly this sensation is delivered by the perfume Bergamote Soleil from the legendary French niche brand Atelier Cologne.

Released in 2016, this fragrance instantly won the hearts of connoisseurs with its carefree energy and sophisticated simplicity.

It is part of the Joie de Vivre collection, which translates to "joy of living," and perfectly reflects the brand's philosophy: a modern reinterpretation of the classic cologne with a focus on natural ingredients and emotional depth.

Atelier Cologne, founded in 2009 by the couple Christophe Cervasel and Sylvie Ganay, revolutionized the world of perfumery by offering colognes with unprecedented longevity and complexity.

Bergamote Soleil is a bright example of this approach, combining vibrant citrus freshness with delicate floral and woody chords.

The fragrance is positioned as unisex, making it an ideal choice for everyone who values freedom of expression through scent.

For Whom and When to Wear Bergamote Soleil

Thanks to its universal nature, Bergamote Soleil suits both women and men seeking a fragrance for everyday wear.

Its cologne concentration provides a refreshing and invigorating effect, perfect for warm seasons – spring and summer.

Imagine it on a beach holiday, during a city stroll, or at a casual meeting with friends.

The scent trail is rated as middle: it is not intrusive but leaves an elegant trail that others will notice and appreciate.

For optimal performance, we recommend applying it to pulse points: wrists, neck, and behind the ears, where body heat helps to unfold all the notes.

If you love fresh and sunny fragrances, Bergamote Soleil will become your faithful companion. It evokes a feeling of freedom and happiness, reminding you of sunny days and carefree moments.

Unlike heavy winter perfumes, this cologne is light and airy, yet has sufficient depth to not seem superficial.

Master Behind the Fragrance: Jérôme Epinette

The creator of this sunny masterpiece is the famous perfumer Jérôme Epinette, known for his work with brands such as Byredo, Olfactive Studio, and of course, Atelier Cologne.

His signature style is creating complex yet accessible compositions that resonate with a modern audience.

In Bergamote Soleil, Epinette masterfully combines bright citrus notes with delicate floral and earthy base chords, creating a fragrance that feels both fresh and comforting.

This release strengthened Atelier Cologne's reputation as a brand that innovates in the cologne category.

Bergamote Soleil not only added variety to the Joie de Vivre line but also showed how classical elements can be reinterpreted in a modern key.

It appeals to those who seek not just a fragrance but an emotional experience associated with joy and love of life.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Bergamote Soleil is a journey from bright freshness to warm depth.

In the top notes, Calabrian bergamot and bitter orange dominate, creating a juicy and invigorating start, complemented by the gentle musky note of ambrette.

In the heart of the fragrance, cardamom with a cool spiciness unfolds, jasmine grandiflorum, which brings floral tenderness, and lavender, adding herbal freshness.

The base consists of vetiver with earthy and woody notes, oakmoss for depth, and grey amber, which softens the composition, leaving a warm and sensual trail on the skin.

All notes intertwine harmoniously, creating a fragrance that evolves from sunny vigor to cozy comfort.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This fragrance, frankly, isn't for everyone. It's prickly and has character, as if it stands alone. The scent of lavender and bergamot, but with a spicy accent that makes you wary. Very tart and sharp, not to everyone's liking. For those who love something unusual and bold, but don't expect it to be soft and cozy. It's definitely an acquired taste ))))

This fragrance is truly bright and sunny. From the first accords, you feel the freshness of bergamot and bitter orange, which perfectly combine with the silky spicy notes of ambrette. Jasmine, with its intoxicating tart-spicy hue, sounds surrounded by fragrant lavender and velvety cardamom. The composition is completed by the moist-woody aroma of vetiver and oakmoss, which gives the perfume a special depth. Overall, this is a very optimistic and confident choice for those who want to add bright colors to their life

The bergamot scent here is truly delightful, it smoothly transitions into tea notes. This is not for men, rather, it's very delicate, yet bright and invigorating

The fragrance starts with a bright bergamot that immediately grabs attention. Then orange joins in, followed by a lavender accord. This combination creates a refreshing and tangy sensation that is truly impressive. A very beautiful perfume that doesn't leave you indifferent

The fragrance turned out quite sharp and prickly. Fresh woody and citrus notes blend with a bright accord of lavender and spices. Honestly, it reminds me more of something for men. It somehow lacks softness and warmth to attract a female audience. Overall, not impressed!!

The citruses here are just cold and sharp, as if someone decided to squeeze a lemon right in your face! Lavender and moss barely peek through, but the citruses are definitely front and center. It lasts okay on clothes, but that doesn't save the situation. Every time I pick up this fragrance from Atelier in the purple bottle, I think: why pay so much money for something that doesn't evoke any emotions?!!! I'll try a couple more scents, but most likely, I'm done with this brand

It starts with a bright citrus bitterness, with a hint of green. Then spicy woody and floral accents emerge. The scent is fresh, suitable for both men and women, but becomes quite tart as it develops. Vetiver notes combine perfectly with ambergris, creating an interesting effect!!

This fragrance, to be honest, is cool and fresh, but with bergamot, lavender, and cardamom, it can be suffocating if overdone. It's more suitable for men, of course, but don't forget moderation, otherwise it will be unbearable 😒

What a cool summer scent! It just fills you with energy and freshness. You can smell bright bergamot, a bit of bitter orange, as well as cardamom and lavender. The longevity, of course, isn't super, but the sillage is quite pleasant 🌞

The citruses here are somehow bitter, and the bergamot isn't pleasing at all. One spray - and that's it, enough to suffocate. In summer, maybe it's fine, but as soon as the cold comes, it immediately turns bitter and doesn't develop properly. What a nightmare! )

Honestly, the fragrance isn't impressive. The citruses are too bright, and the lavender with spices somehow doesn't blend. The base with amber and vetiver accents leaves a feeling of emptiness. It seems fresh, but at the same time, it's somehow cold and soulless. I don't know, maybe it's just not my day, but this perfume only causes disappointment

Bergamot is a great choice for everyday wear, it's long-lasting but not too intrusive. Just perfect for any day! 🌼

PREGNANCY! This scent just explodes with the freshness of bergamot, which pairs perfectly with a light tea. The lavender here is powdery, and cardamom adds an interesting tartness. It's both strict and composed, yet it gives incredible vigor and a feeling of closeness to nature

A pleasant, slightly sweet scent in an elegant bottle, as if enveloped in the coolness of lavender. On hot days, it unfolds particularly well, but as soon as the temperature drops, its notes lose their freshness and begin to sound bitter
