Description of the composition

The scent of №5 is built as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The style of Chanel is evident in details that define the fragrance identity. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de Cologne sets the depth and body this composition needs.

At the opening of the pyramid you sense invigorating sunny top notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Lemon and Orange blossom.

In the middle phase you sense Iris, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley and Rose carrying a opulent floral direction.

The internal accord map is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Musc and Wood with each one in a clear role. Background accords such as Powdery, Amber, Spicy and Cosmetic enrich the profile without taking over. The gender direction is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In wear duration High suggests confident staying power.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Ambery, Earthy / Mossy, Fairy and Gourmet. It also reaches into Musk, Whiteflower, Wood and Citrus.

There are many versions of "Five," and each can appeal to different people. The aldehydes here are truly beautiful. Although I'm not a fan of aldehyde notes, this fragrance still attracts me

Sandalwood here sounds so bright and rich that it simply doesn't leave you indifferent. Civet, by the way, stands out with its persistence, and aldehydes add a special sharpness. The fragrance is certainly good, but I can't tame it. It's too retro and complex to perceive, and those persistent civet notes. The modern version of "Five," in my opinion, is much more palatable 😔

The fragrance unfolds for so long that I just don't have the strength to wait. At first, nothing is felt on the skin at all, and then, as if from around the corner, aldehydes and notes of orange blossom begin to creep in... Ylang-ylang becomes audible, but it's so oily and greasy that it's just disgusting. After five hours, powdery notes and a delicate iris root with rose finally appear, but by this point, you already want to wipe it off. The fragrance is both transparent and so persistent that it's simply unbearable. Gentle, but at the same time so brain-numbing 😒
