Perfume information

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Purple Oud is shaped as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The signature of Dior is clear from the opening to the final trail. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Wood, Spicy and Gourmet. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to East.

When the structure is mixed the fragrance opens as a single chord with a peppery-spicy mood: Orange, Oud, Pink pepper and Saffron. Here 4 notes sound as one coherent layer, building voluminous spicy depth that reads as cohesive from the start.

The deeper layers are felt as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The accord profile is shaped by these accords: Citrus, Wood and Spicy without random overlap. The profile is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

In summary Purple Oud reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the scent structures best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

For me, this fragrance resembles a combination of two well-known perfumes: GUCCI Guilty Absolute Pour Homme and Encre Noire by Lalique. The oud here is really beautiful, with no medicinal or animalic notes, which might be due to its synthetic composition. It wears quite comfortably. But for the lack of originality, I'd remove one star
