In the world of niche perfumery, where every detail matters, the fragrance Carnal Flower by Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle stands apart.

Released in 2005, this unisex perfume quickly won the hearts of connoisseurs thanks to its bold and sensual nature.

In Russia, it is often called "Fleshly Flower" or "Carnal Flower," which perfectly reflects the essence of the composition.

The brand, founded by the heir to a perfumery dynasty, has been renowned for creative freedom and the highest quality since its creation in 2000, and Carnal Flower is a vivid confirmation of that.

History and Positioning of the Fragrance

Carnal Flower was immediately classified as a unisex fragrance, making it a universal choice for everyone who appreciates depth and elegance.

It belongs to the Floral family, but does not limit itself to traditional boundaries.

The concentration of Eau de Parfum ensures an intense and long-lasting scent, ideally suited for special occasions or daily wear in warm seasons.

The trail of the fragrance is rated as medium, creating an aura of refinement without overwhelming the space.

Usage Recommendations

To enjoy all facets of Carnal Flower, experts advise applying 1 to 2 sprays to the skin, such as on the wrists or neck, for natural unfolding.

For a longer-lasting effect, you can walk into the cloud of spray, applying the fragrance to clothing.

This perfume particularly shines in the spring-summer season, adding tropical freshness and sensuality to your look.

Its versatility allows it to be worn both on a romantic date and at a social event, where it is guaranteed to attract attention.

Creators and Their Contribution

Two outstanding perfumers worked on the creation of Carnal Flower: Frédéric Malle and Dominique Ropion.

Their collaboration led to the birth of a fragrance that combines technical mastery and artistic vision.

Frédéric Malle, as the founder of the brand, provided the philosophical foundation, while Dominique Ropion, known for his innovative approaches, brought unique accords.

This tandem made Carnal Flower one of the iconic releases in the Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle collection, strengthening the house's reputation as a pioneer in the world of niche perfumery.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The perfume is truly transparent and clear, with a distinct but concise character. The first time, I didn't even catch that it was tuberose, I was so impressed by its straightforwardness and dampness, as well as its sexual allure, like in Nasomatto's Narcotic Venus. Only upon reacquainting myself with Carnal Flower was I able to recognize the tuberose. Here, you feel more of the greenery, like the stems, rather than the flower itself. Notes of ylang-ylang and jasmine add freshness. The dampness of the tuberose feels very spring-like and reserved, as if it's something intelligent 🌸

Tuberose is simply a MIRACLE! The smell reminds me of fresh mint and soft green grass, like a freshly cut twig. It's fresh, with spicy notes and a light soapy nuance, like a good cream. The fragrance is long-lasting and spreads well. They say that's exactly how a real flower smells

All these reviews about Carnal Flower I've read just piss me off. Every time it starts with someone mentioning Fracas by Robert Piguet, as if it's the only fragrance that exists. Yes, I also knew tuberose exactly like that, and yes, I'd love to love it - who doesn't want to flirt with something considered almost a symbol of sex? But here's what I'll say: the inability or unwillingness to admire Malle's fragrances is simply a shame. Carnal Flower confirmed this once again, even though experienced reviewers insist it's easier to perceive than Fracas or Tubéreuse Criminelle. But, honestly, what a reverent attitude towards tuberose? It's just a scent that, in their opinion, is a masterpiece. Who would even argue that a composition that remains relevant 13 years later is a masterpiece? This fragrance, as if plucked from a living tuberose branch, sun-drenched and placed in some jar, became a benchmark for perfumers of the late 2010s. And has no one noticed how the perception of "sensual tuberose" has changed? Now, green tuberoses with mineral notes are increasingly heard, in strange combinations - without all this pretentious nonsense 😒

"Carnal Flower" is another fragrance with a clear sexual hint. Created by Dominique Ropion for Frédéric Malle in 2005, it became a true bestseller and one of the most beautiful tuberose-themed fragrances. The name wasn't chosen by chance, and Malle isn't trying to sell sex here, as Tom Ford does. Tuberose is a flower considered an aphrodisiac. In some countries, young girls were even forbidden to pass by tuberose fields because the scent could evoke indecent thoughts. Carnal Flower is the result of the perfumer's long efforts, who spent eighteen months creating this fragrance. He managed to convey freshness and green coolness, adding jasmine and ylang-ylang to the white floral accord. Lily of the valley, plumeria, and lily give it radiance, and a milky-woody note completes the composition, making tuberose a true tuberose. The use of natural flower absolute adds richness and layering. Carnal Flower truly smells of tuberose, but without the dirty notes sometimes found in living flowers. Tuberose is usually depicted as sweet and vulgar, but this fragrance is a new word in white floral compositions. Who should try Carnal Flower? Those who love white floral fragrances but are tired of their vulgarity. Those who prefer light and transparent floral notes. And finally, those for whom elegance and aesthetics are not just words, but a way of life 😏

The tuberose is simply stunning, it stands out among all my perfumes. The scent is very sensual and alluring, there's something carnal about it. Fruity notes and coconut add interesting accents, preventing it from becoming boring and monotonous 🌸

I recently came across this scent on an acquaintance, and it simply blew me away. There's an incredible allure and tenderness to it. The base consists of sweet, juicy flowers, and at its heart is tuberose with fruity notes. It's warm and feminine, yet very bright and captivating, leaving a long sillage

The fragrance truly impresses with its brightness and originality. On the skin, it unfolds in an amazing way, combining rich notes of tuberose, jasmine, the freshness of eucalyptus, and the sweetness of coconut. The longevity is excellent, and the sillage is simply gorgeous

At first, it didn't make any impression on me. But as soon as I tried it in the store, I just fell in love. This scent is like from another world, it doesn't let go and makes me think about it again and again. I constantly return to it in my thoughts. Soon, I think, I'll decide on a full bottle )

This fragrance is truly impressive! White flowers, especially tuberose, stand out very brightly here. It's dry, but at the same time, there's a softness. You feel like it can captivate you, you want to test it again, but you need a little more time to understand all the nuances. It lasted all day on my wrist, and it was very pleasant!!!

The scent is truly beautiful, with bright white flowers, tuberose stands out here. The fragrance is soft, though a bit dry. It's as if it captivates you, and after the first test, there was a desire to buy a bottle, but it's worth trying again. The scent lasted all day on my wrist, and it was very pleasant to feel it

The sillage of the fragrance is quite average, but the longevity is pleasing - about 6 hours. This scent is definitely not for everyone, but if you like it, you won't regret it! 😊

A tuberose-filled fragrance gives a feeling of something too familiar, as if I've heard it before. Serge Lutens' floral notes, of course, but there's something intrusive about it that won't let go 🌸

Tuberose truly dominates in this fragrance, it's so bright and persistent, and it seems ylang-ylang helps it with that. Overall, the scent is beautiful, but it's too aggressive and overt, which clearly reflects its name 😬

Tuberose surrounded by greenery - that's a real celebration! The scent is bright and juicy, yet it maintains moderation. It's stylish and modern, with light hints of vintage Poison, though more in mood than in essence 🌼

At first, I was quite skeptical about this fragrance because of the coconut. I don't have the best associations with it, and our relationship is complicated. But this combination of tuberose and coconut, though a bit sharp, smells so sweet and alluring. And the eucalyptus adds an interesting bitterness and uniqueness that I haven't smelled before. The sillage is simply amazing. It's not something you can describe with words, you have to experience it. One of those sillage trails you catch on the street and immediately run after the wearer to find out what this incredible scent is :)
