Identity and Release History

Imagine a sunny summer day filled with the freshness of citrus fruits — this is exactly the image embodied by Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune, released in 1999.

This fragrance is part of the legendary Aqua Allegoria collection from the house of Guerlain, founded in 1828 and an icon of French perfumery.

Pamplelune, which in French means "grapefruit," immediately won the hearts of lovers of bright and joyful compositions, becoming one of the most recognizable citrus fragrances in the brand's history.

Positioning and Character

This women's fragrance is available in eau de toilette concentration, making it ideal for daily use in warm weather.

Its sillage is lightly perceptible, creating a light and unobtrusive cloud that is suitable for the office, walks, or dates.

Belonging to the Citrus family and note groups such as Citrus, Fruity, and Woody, it provides a fresh and optimistic character that instantly lifts the mood.

Authors and Inspiration

This masterpiece was created by two outstanding perfumers: Jean-Paul Guerlain and Mathilde Laurent.

Their combined talent allowed them to blend the traditions of the Guerlain house with contemporary trends, creating a fragrance that reflects the lightness and elegance of the brand.

Pamplelune became part of the Aqua Allegoria heritage, a collection dedicated to celebrating nature, and strengthened Guerlain's reputation as a master of citrus compositions.

Pyramid and Development

The fragrance Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune unfolds as a layered story, beginning with a bright burst of citrus: bergamot, grapefruit, and lemon create a sparkling and invigorating start, reminiscent of the first rays of morning sun.

In the heart of the composition, juicy black currant appears combined with a citrus chord, adding fruity depth and playful sweetness.

The base wraps up with warm and sensual notes: patchouli, sandalwood, and vanilla create a cozy and captivating finale, which gently balances with the initial freshness.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This fragrance has become one of those that stick in your mind. At first, you feel a sharp grapefruit, so fresh and even a little prickly. Then it recedes into the background, and jasmine appears, as if whispering about itself. The citrus notes don't disappear, but now they intertwine with white flowers, adding a creamy touch. All this creates an amazing feeling, as if you don't quite understand whether you like it or not. So subtle and refined, it's hard to grasp

Lemon zest with hints of blackcurrant, and in the finale, a delicate vanilla appears with a light powdery accent. This combination brings incredible inspiration and lifts the mood!

Another disappointment from this line. I expected a bright and natural grapefruit, but instead, I got an intrusive blackcurrant leaf note that behaved completely inappropriately. This only evoked negative associations for me. I envy those who managed to get along with this perfume 😒

How pleasant it is to feel sweet citrus notes with a slight hint of vanilla! Although, unfortunately, the fragrance doesn't last long on me, but it's so charming and joyful!

The fragrance is not bad, of course, but something is wrong with the citruses here. Bergamot at the start is like a sour face, and then, when it calms down, grapefruit, blackcurrant, and sandalwood appear. It seems bright, but somehow too intrusive. A summer option? Yes, if you want everyone around you to shy away from the smell

This fragrance just explodes with brightness and freshness! It's perfect for spring and summer, lifting your mood to the highest level. Citrus notes and berry currant are felt very clearly, creating an atmosphere of joy and lightness. A real burst of positivity!!

The scent reminds me of tangerine with basil, but it also has a hint of passionfruit. Blackcurrant adds its own twist, but it evokes mixed feelings. In the end, there's a strange sensation: whether I like it or not is unclear 😔

What a bright citrus scent! It reminds me of cold lemon juice you drink on a hot day. An image of a sunny morning immediately comes to mind, when the dew is still glistening on the grass. You feel freshness and tranquility. Simply incredible!

The opening of the fragrance is simply explosive - sour citrus with a bitterness immediately grabs attention. And then there's a surprising transition to delicate patchouli. In the base, the fragrance unfolds especially pleasantly, and it's truly surprising, considering I didn't expect such quality from this line. Very impressive! )

I chose this perfume based on the notes, not on testing. The scent is indeed pleasant, and there's an abundance of blackcurrant here, but it gives it a slightly sharp chypre nuance that I'm not entirely fond of. Although it's not a must-have fragrance, its citrus note attracts me. I'll need to get used to it, because it wasn't love at first spray. Its longevity is good, but you need to be careful with the number of sprays, it's easy to overdo it! ))

This scent reminds me of summer. It's truly very natural. The opening is simply explosive, with a grapefruit bitterness, and the sweetness of citrus and green notes add interest. Then you're transported to a blooming meadow in early June: flowers and daisies everywhere. All of this feels very delicate and natural. But, unfortunately, its longevity isn't long, and it stays close to the skin. A shame, really )

The citruses are sweet, with a tartness of berries and vanilla. At first, the fragrance seems pleasing, but it quickly disappears, leaving a soapy aftertaste. This is disappointing, I expected more

Fruity and citrus notes just explode in the air. The citruses are so prominent, you can't miss them. Longevity, alas, leaves much to be desired: it delights with bright nuances for only about ten minutes, and then begins to fade. After a couple of hours, you can barely feel it on your skin

There are plenty of citruses in the fragrance. There are both sour and sweet notes, even with a slight bitterness. Overall, it's quite watery, like all fragrances from this line. Green nuances are also present. Unfortunately, patchouli and sandalwood are not felt. In the end, as with the other fragrances in this series, the conclusion is one - a decent option for summer use to refresh yourself

These bottles, to be honest, don't excite me at all. But what's inside - that's another story. The composition is indeed interesting, the perfumers tried hard, but it seems it's not for me. Maybe it's just not my style. It takes time to understand. Over time, the notes turn into berries and don't come back. Overall, I like it, but there's something that reminds me of Marina
