Identity and Release History

In 2017, the world of perfumery was enriched by a new creation from the legendary Lalique, which immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs of exquisite fragrances.

The unisex perfume Deux Cigales, known in Russia as "Two Cicadas," became part of the elegant Noir Premier collection, reflecting the brand's deep connection with art and luxury.

This release symbolizes the bold combination of tradition and innovation characteristic of Lalique, whose history began with crystal masterpieces and continues in the world of fragrances, where each bottle is a work of art.

Deux Cigales is an eau de parfum, released in 2017, making it relatively young but already having gained recognition among niche perfume enthusiasts.

Its name, inspired by Mediterranean cicadas, hints at the summer lightness and natural harmony it embodies.

The fragrance belongs to the Floral and Oriental families, promising a rich and multifaceted sound, perfectly suited for modern connoisseurs seeking versatility and depth.

Positioning and Wearability

Deux Cigales is created for those who appreciate the balance between femininity and masculinity, offering a unisex character that easily adapts to any style and mood.

Its medium trail provides a delicate yet persistent presence, without overwhelming others, making the fragrance ideal for everyday wear, office meetings, or romantic evenings.

To achieve the optimal effect, it is recommended to apply it to warm points of the skin, such as wrists and neck, allowing the notes to naturally unfold throughout the day.

Thanks to its versatility, Deux Cigales is excellent for the spring-summer season, when one wants to add notes of freshness and floral fragrance to the image.

It is complimentary enough to evoke admiration, and at the same time retains uniqueness, without becoming too intrusive.

If you are looking for a fragrance that will easily fit into any wardrobe and highlight your individuality, this choice will certainly not disappoint.

Authors and Influence

Behind the creation of this impressive fragrance is the talented perfumer Richard Ibanez, known for his ability to combine classical elements with modern accents.

His work on Deux Cigales demonstrates a deep understanding of olfactory art, allowing him to harmoniously weave Oriental and floral motifs into a single composition.

This release strengthened the reputation of Lalique as a brand that is not afraid to experiment, while maintaining a commitment to quality and aesthetics, making it a significant contribution to the world of niche perfumery.

Deux Cigales reflects the evolution of Lalique from crystal grandeur to aromatic masterpieces, showing how the brand continues to be inspired by nature and art.

It has become a symbol of how traditional values can be reinterpreted in a modern context, attracting a new generation of fans who value sophistication and originality.

Similar Fragrances

If Deux Cigales has conquered your sense of smell, it is worth paying attention to other fragrances that share its Oriental-floral aesthetic or universal character.

For example, Montale Chypre Vanille offers a similar combination of vanilla and woody notes, while Ajmal Evoke Silver Edition For Her attracts with its elegant floral core.

For those looking for lighter alternatives, Tocca Gia can be an excellent choice with its fresh and playful accents.

Exploring these options will help expand your fragrance palette and find new favorite sounds.

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid of Deux Cigales begins with a refreshing start, where lavender and pink pepper (red berries) create a spicy-green accord that instantly invigorates and draws attention.

In the heart of the fragrance, a floral symphony unfolds with heliotrope, rose, and tuberose, adding tenderness and depth that smoothly transition into a warm base.

The final notes include amber, sandalwood, tonka beans, vanilla, and white cedar, creating a cozy and long-lasting sillage that leaves behind an intriguing trail.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The bottle, sure, looks pretty good, even kinda sparkles in the light, but that doesn't save the situation. The scent? That's a whole different story. Lavender and spicy herbs, yeah, that's an acquired taste, but the pepper here is definitely too much. The rose, yeah, it's mature, but not in a good way. The sweet vanilla base, that's okay, but the sweetness here feels kinda out of place. Powdery, yeah, but I can't say it's like, super amazing. Out of the whole line, I probably like this one the most, but even with the rose, things aren't that smooth. In the drydown, it sometimes gives off something old and unpleasant

This scent just messes with my head with its powdery vibe and sharp pink pepper. The woody-vanilla base doesn't save it, it just adds to the heaviness. The whole smell feels too dense and oppressive, like someone decided to corner you 😒

This fragrance is sweet and spicy, with noticeable powdery notes and bright white florals. It's really long-lasting and leaves a trail. Warm and rich, it gives off an impression of density and vibrancy. Personally, it's a bit heavy for me, but overall a very interesting choice 🌸

This smell is just suffocating, it's way too intense and heavy. Lavender, powdery flowers, spices - all of it is just too much. For me, it's an absolute no-go, even if I really wanted to, I couldn't wear something like this

What an amazing bottle! It's simply captivating with its beauty. But I didn't get along with the scent, the lavender is too overwhelming, and the peppery note adds sharpness. The sandalwood in the base is quite noticeable. But the longevity, I have to admit, is impressive ))
