Perfume information

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Victorian Posy is shaped as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The style of Penhaligon's is evident from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette supports the right density and pace of development.

At olfactory-group level the profile is anchored in Floral, Green, Citrus and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Ambery, Earthy / Mossy and Wood. At family level the scent maps to Chypre and Floral.

Right at the start you detect fresh floral first notes: Chamomile, Galbanum, Hyacinth and Lemon.

In the heart you meet Jasmine, Rose and Violet keeping a harmonious floral direction. At the foundation the line is anchored through Ambergris, Oak moss, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Vetiver, shaping a deep woody trail.

The olfactory framework is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Wood and Amber without random overlap. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which clarifies the composition character.

In summary Victorian Posy reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This fragrance is green and grassy. At first, it reminded me of a cologne our great-grandfathers might have worn. Gradually it becomes a bit softer, but honestly, it didn't grab me

This fragrance is definitely in the retro category. In its notes, you can catch galbanum, hyacinth, rose, chamomile, and oakmoss. Its character reminds me more of Climat than Magie Noire 🌸
