Description of the composition

The scent of Oud is built as a layered story, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Robert Piguet comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum sets the right density and pace of development.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Wood and Spicy without random overlap. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

From the first breath you detect cardamom-peppery opening note: Saffron. This 1 note shapes voluminous spicy depth that is impossible to miss.

In the central layer you sense Fir Resin, Myrrh and Styrax holding a resinous meditative direction. In the base the line is anchored through Oud and Patchouli, shaping a deep woody trail.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Spicy, Balsamic, Wood and Gourmet. Within olfactory families the scent maps to East and Wood.

In summary Oud holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the fragrances best experienced through real development.
