Perfume information

Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Tarab evolves as a continuous scent journey, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The signature of Serge Lutens comes through in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

The internal accord map is built around these accords: Floral and Wood without random overlap. The profile is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

When the pyramid is blended into one block the notes arrive together with a soft-dry woody mood: Cambodian Oud, Nagarmotha and Rose.

The middle and base stages are perceived as a gradual shift without abrupt breaks, which gives the structure continuity.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Wood, Floral, Gourmet and Whiteflower. From a family perspective the composition sits in East, Floral and Wood.

Overall Tarab sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. This is the type of composition best judged through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Lutens' fragrances have always attracted attention, but in my opinion, there isn't as much buzz around them now. The new release, to be honest, doesn't impress with its pyramid, as is often the case with his other creations. But, perhaps, it's worth giving it a chance and trying it 🤔
