Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Shiseido Rising Sun begins with a refreshing accord of top notes: lemon provides citrusy vitality, while the marine accord (sea note) and minerals create a cool, almost oceanic atmosphere, reminiscent of sunrise.

In the heart of the composition, floral facets unfold: jasmine and rose intertwine in a delicate bouquet, complemented by exotic ylang-ylang, adding tropical depth.

The base notes anchor the fragrance with warm and cozy accents: cashmeran and musk create a silky leather foundation, while coconut and Mirabelle plum bring fruity sweetness, making the sillage soft and memorable.

This journey from freshness to warmth perfectly reflects the name Rising Sun, symbolizing the transition from morning coolness to daytime warmth.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I just can't get along with Shiseido perfumes. Their skincare and cosmetics are good, of course, but their fragrances are a whole different story. This scent I tried was far from what I like. The salty sweetness just won't leave me alone, I can't get used to it at all. It seems like this brand's DNA is completely foreign to me

This scent turned out kinda strange. Instead of the expected tropical sunscreen smell with coconut, it's just fresh citruses and neroli, and coconut only appears at the very end. Not what you'd want at the beach. The scent is more like a light mist than something bright and memorable. If you don't like perfumes, maybe this would work, but for me, it's just unbearable. The longevity is decent, of course, but the opening fades too quickly, and then only a barely perceptible sillage remains. Not impressive at all 😒

This scent will definitely be my favorite for summer 2021. It's so light and airy, just super! Citrus and sea water at the start, and ylang-ylang is right upfront, coconut is barely noticeable. There's a bit of saltiness, like the sun kissed your skin. The bottle, by the way, is very stylish and looks nice. I adore beach scents, and Rising Sun just captivated me. I bought it blind, and it was the best decision! It's not as intrusive as Beach Walk MMM or Bronze Goddess EL, it has more freshness and citrus notes. It's a vacation scent, but with cool nuances of bright citrus and salty water 🌊

This fragrance evokes memories of summer days. If you overdo it with application, it can be too intrusive, but just one drop of this sunny perfume can lift your spirits. It's like sunshine in a bottle. It's sweet, warm, and reminds you of the beach 🌞

The scent reminds me of a thick cream with floral notes. I can sense ylang-ylang, coconut, and something else that's hard to describe. It seems to have something sunny about it. It's a fragrance associated with the beach, but it has its own unique twist 🌼

The scent is certainly beautiful and memorable, but I'm not a fan of such things. Too sweet, creamy, with notes of coconut and ylang-ylang, and then there's this marine freshness with a salty hint. I can't get used to this sweetness and saltiness, they feel like they're pulling me back to the past, to something that can't be brought back

What an amazing scent! It seems like it will fit perfectly into the summer season, I can't wait to try it 😍

Aquatics aren't usually my choice, but this fragrance truly impresses. Warm citruses and floral notes frame a creamy coconut hue, creating an atmosphere of calm. There's something salty in it that makes you think about something more 🌊

The bottle is simply gorgeous, and the initial citruses are so lovely! Japanese DNA is clearly evident here. But for me, this scent is exclusively summery, associated only with the beach. Perhaps that's exactly what it was created for.

The scent is not bad, of course, but too trivial. It reminds me of SPF sunscreen, with a light coconut hint. Memories of applying lotion on the beach, and the smell of heated stone around. That's what I feel when I open the bottle. It's kinda boring, lacks depth.

Jean Jacques' "Rising Sun" fragrance, created for the Japanese company Takasago, should, in theory, reflect Japan. And perhaps it does. Lemon sounds very watercolor-like, and tea rose and jasmine add lightness. Musk and a little coconut milk create an interesting background, while salty ocean spray seems to blur all the notes. Longevity isn't very high, and the sillage is close to the skin, but in summer heat, this might even be an advantage

The pyramid is really interesting, there's something unusual about it. I can't say it completely captivated me, but it's worth a try 🤔
