Ferre by Ferre: Italian Classic of 1991

In the world of perfumery, some fragrances become milestones, and Gianfranco Ferre Ferre By Ferre, released in 1991, is exactly that.

This eau de toilette embodies the elegance and style that characterize the Italian fashion house, founded by the legendary designer known as the "architect of fashion."

Belonging to the aldehyde and floral families, Ferre By Ferre offers a complex composition that starts with bright citrus and green notes, transitions into a rich floral heart, and finishes with a warm, sensual base.

Who This Fragrance is For

Positioned as a feminine fragrance, Ferre By Ferre is ideal for self-confident women who appreciate classic elegance.

Its noticeable sillage makes it an excellent choice for evening events, dates, or special occasions where you want to leave an unforgettable impression.

As an eau de toilette, it has moderate longevity, and for optimal effect, it is recommended to apply it to pulse points on the skin, such as wrists and neck.

Although exact dosage recommendations for skin and clothing are not specified, 2-3 sprays are enough to enjoy its development over several hours.

Brand and Influence

Gianfranco Ferre, founded in 1984, has always aimed to combine architectural precision with luxury, and Ferre By Ferre reflects this philosophy through its structured yet sensual composition.

This fragrance reinforces the brand's reputation as a creator of timeless, refined products, reminiscent of the golden era of Italian fashion in the 90s.

Description of the composition

Composition Structure: A Journey Through the Notes

The pyramid of Ferre By Ferre is a true olfactory adventure, beginning with fizzy aldehydes, which create a sparkling opening, enhanced by the freshness of bergamot, lemon and orange, with juicy hints of peach and green accents of green chord and neroli.

At the heart of the fragrance, a rich bouquet of flowers unfolds: delicate jasmine, romantic rose, airy lily of the valley and exotic ylang-ylang, with spicy notes of clove and earthy shades of oakmoss, while black currant leaf and passion fruit add a fruity playfulness.

The base of the fragrance is warm and enveloping, with ambergris, benzoin and styrax creating a balsamic depth, complemented by powdery iris and vanilla, with woody accents of sandalwood and vetiver, and sensual musk with spicy tonka beans.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

What a wonderful fragrance! It's so light and airy, it just envelops you. Despite the many notes, it's hard to pinpoint anything specific, but there's a pleasant powdery softness that gives it femininity. Simply delightful! 🌸

The scent reminds me of soap with notes of lilac and musk. It smells somewhat unnatural, like plastic. Didn't like it at all. Ordinary and even unpleasant. The longevity is high, of course, but it's too monotonous and artificial 😕

The fragrance is indeed very dense. The pyramid, of course, was slightly overdone, but mostly I feel a powdery bitterness and something soft, with notes of vanilla and nut, as if milk was added

The fragrance turned out to be too heavy and muddled, there's so much going on that it just makes my head spin. It didn't work for me, this floral obsessiveness is suffocating, it sounds like something from the past, it just grates on my ears 🌧️

The scent is just intrusive, and the execution is definitely an acquired taste 😒
