Identity and Release History of Hermès Paprika Brasil

Discover Hermès Paprika Brasil, a unique unisex fragrance that debuted in 2006 and immediately captured the attention of connoisseurs of exquisite perfume compositions.

This perfume is part of the exclusive Hermessence line, which reflects the brand's pursuit of minimalism and purity of form in the world of fragrances.

Created under the wing of the legendary French house Hermès, whose history dates back to 1837 and a harness-making workshop, Paprika Brasil embodies impeccable taste and a heritage of quality.

Hermès, known for its silk scarves, bags, and accessories, also demonstrates a commitment to elegance and innovation in perfumery, making this fragrance a gem in its collection.

Positioning and Character of Paprika Brasil

As a unisex perfume, Paprika Brasil attracts both women and men, offering a balance of spicy warmth and woody depth.

Released as an eau de toilette, it has a medium intensity, perfectly suitable for daily wear or special occasions.

Its medium sillage leaves a subtle yet noticeable trace that does not overwhelm but invites closer acquaintance.

Thanks to its universal character, Paprika Brasil easily adapts to different seasons: spicy notes add warmth on cool days, while woody chords bring freshness to the summer heat.

This makes the fragrance complimentary and recognizable, capable of highlighting individuality without being overly intrusive.

Authorship and Influence of Jean-Claude Ellena

Behind the creation of Paprika Brasil is the genius of Jean-Claude Ellena, one of the most influential perfumers of our time, known for his minimalist approach and masterful command of chords.

His work for Hermès, including hits such as Terre d'Hermès, helped define the brand's DNA as a combination of simplicity and complexity, which is vividly manifested in Paprika Brasil.

Ellena's influence on this fragrance is evident: he skillfully blends spicy and woody elements, creating a multifaceted composition that reflects Hermès' evolution in perfumery.

Paprika Brasil not only strengthens the brand's reputation as an innovator but also serves as a testament to how perfumery can be an art form accessible to everyone.

The Note Pyramid of Paprika Brasil

Immerse yourself in the olfactory story of Paprika Brasil, starting with the top notes where cloves (spice), hot pepper (chili) and paprika create a spicy and energetic start, reminiscent of Brazilian spices.

In the heart of the composition, green chord (green notes), iris and violet unfold, adding floral tenderness and earthy depth that soften the initial sharpness.

The base of the fragrance is rooted in warm and long-lasting notes: mahogany (red wood), reseda and wood chord create a cozy and durable finish, perfectly balancing between spicy and wood families.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The fragrance is indeed spicy and woody, which immediately draws attention. Clove here sounds very bright, and the combination with paprika and pepper creates an interesting effect. This trio, especially clove, unexpectedly delights when it appears after some time - as if you remember an old friend.

For three hours, it periodically returns, and you think: "Oh, I didn't expect you to be here again!" In the heart and base of the fragrance, an unusual wood and iris are felt, which gives it charisma. I can't say it's an oriental fragrance - rather, it reminds of South American expanses, as if you're in Brazil.

Versatile, definitely. At first, it seemed more masculine, but now I want to wear it myself. Long-lasting, with a pleasant woody-spicy sillage that isn't too long but leaves a trail

As soon as you spray it, it seems like something interesting and beautiful. But once it settles a bit, some unpleasant note remains on the skin. Maybe it's mignonette, who knows? And the longevity, by the way, isn't great either

What a cool fragrance! It's so fresh and clean, but at the same time, it has an interesting sharpness. I smell notes of greenery and iris in it, but unfortunately, it lacks woody accents. I received it as a gift, and it really makes me happy! Honestly, for this price, I wouldn't have dared to buy it myself ))

This fragrance from Hermes really sparks interest. It seems to envelop you with softness and lightness, yet at the same time leaves a sense of mystery. Violet and suede here create an amazing combination you want to dive into again and again 🌸 There's something warm about it, as if you're holding an old newspaper warmed by the sun.

But the new Byredo Eyes Closed, although it has similar notes, seems much rougher. Clove and iris here sound sharp, even with the addition of Iso E Super, which makes it quite appealing. But if I had to choose, I would definitely stick with Hermes ✨

Sweet spices and iris suede, woody notes with spices, and around them, sour-sweet violets. This fragrance is from 2006, and perhaps such an iris existed even earlier, but now I realize that Ellen created this long before modern niche perfumes appeared. How sad it is to realize that such things are fading into the past, leaving only memories

This fragrance was a gift, and I didn't appreciate it, even thought about selling the bottle. But then my husband started using it often, and you wouldn't guess what kind of scent it is just from the bottle. It smells more masculine, and from a distance, it's pleasant to perceive. It smells soft, with a spicy warmth, a peppery feel, and a light powderiness. But that beautiful iris I felt on myself isn't noticeable on male skin. It unfolded differently, more compliantly, perhaps 🤷‍♀️

A fragrance that seems to take you back in time, woody-spicy. At the beginning, you feel cloves and bell pepper, as if they're calling to you. The heart of the fragrance fills with green notes and iris, but it's not what it used to be. Noble woods and mignonette sound in the base, but somewhere that spark that once was is lost. Alas, all this reminds me of what's gone forever 😔

The fragrance is really interesting, spicy, as if you've entered an oriental market where spices mingle in the air. Paprika is clearly felt, but there's something else that's hard to catch. At first, it explodes with emotions, but then, unfortunately, quickly fades into the background 🤔

A hot, spicy scent, where clove and paprika are at the forefront. An oriental fragrance, it's truly unusual, even strange, at least that's how it seems to me 😔

I only have one like this in my collection. The fragrance is truly unusual, spicy, and oriental. It has woody notes and sweet paprika, many spices can be heard. It's that feeling when something leaves, leaving only memories 😔

The fragrance is truly oriental and spicy. Sweet paprika is very prominent, as if you've entered a world of spices. I can't tell if I like it or not, but there's something captivating about it!!! I want to inhale this scent again and again, as if it's mesmerizing

The scent is surprising, there's something unexpected about it. Paprika is sweet, spicy, like from an oriental bazaar. The fragrance is warm, but the longevity leaves much to be desired, and the sillage isn't impressive either 🤔

This scent is a complete disappointment, nothing new or interesting. Dry paprika from a packet and chili pepper that makes your eyes water only create a sharpness that presses on your brain. All this spicy cacophony against some woody powder sounds like someone decided to ruin a good base. The fragrance doesn't lift your spirits, but rather oppresses them 😒

It was given to me as a gift. Honestly, I don't quite understand what prompted the person to choose this fragrance for me. At first, I was shocked - it opened quite heavily, with smoky and woody notes. That scared me a bit. But then, unexpectedly, a fresh iris appeared, and a sweetish paprika was added to it. It's interesting how its scent changes depending on the ambient temperature. For me, this perfume has become a true companion in the cold season!!!
