Identity and Release History

Welcome to the world of freshness and elegance with Hermès Eau d'Orange Verte, a fragrance that has become the embodiment of French chic and natural lightness.

Released in 2009, this perfume is a modern interpretation of the classic citrus theme, part of the iconic Les Colognes collection.

Perfect for those who value purity and naturalness, Eau d'Orange Verte instantly won the hearts of fans worldwide, becoming a symbol of serene summer and refined style.

Positioning and Wearability

As a unisex fragrance, Eau d'Orange Verte emphasizes versatility and democracy, offering its freshness to both women and men.

Being an eau de cologne, it has a light and transparent texture that is ideal for daily wear or hot days.

Its middle sillage leaves a delicate yet noticeable trail, reminiscent of a walk through an orange grove.

The fragrance works wonderfully in the spring-summer season, adding vitality in the morning or refreshing throughout the day, and it can be worn on the skin for a more intimate revelation or on light clothing to prolong the freshness.

Authors and Influence

The magic of Eau d'Orange Verte was created by the outstanding perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, known for his minimalist and poetic approach to compositions.

His work for Hermès reflects the brand's DNA — a pursuit of simplicity, quality, and elegance, rooted in the history of the harness-making workshop founded by Thierry Hermès in 1837.

This fragrance reinforced Hermès' reputation as a house capable of creating accessible luxury and became an important part of the Les Colognes collection, demonstrating how classic elements can be reinterpreted in a modern way.

Description of the composition

Composition Notes

The note pyramid of Eau d'Orange Verte represents a harmonious blend of fresh and natural chords that intertwine, creating a holistic and dynamic image.

The composition is dominated by citrus notes such as Orange, Lemon, and Mandarin, which give the fragrance a bright and juicy initial burst.

They are complemented by green shades of Black Currant Leaf and refreshing Mint, adding depth and coolness.

In the base, earthy and woody chords of Oakmoss and Patchouli resonate, gently anchoring the composition, providing longevity and a warm finish.

All notes merge into a single flow, reminiscent of a walk through a damp forest after rain, where citrus and greenery play in the foreground, and woody shades add cozy completion.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This perfume is simply gorgeous! But, damn, it's too sharp, which makes it feel more for men. The citruses here are so bright, not just the pulp, but a rich, oily peel. Overall, it smells fresh and green, the citrus note is simply delightful!

At first, this cologne seems absolutely magnificent. Minty, herbal, and citrus notes create a feeling of freshness and invigoration. But unfortunately, that feeling fades too quickly. I don't know how to feel about it

The fragrance is really bright and beautiful, but in my opinion, it's more suitable for men. Citrus notes and mint create an invigorating feeling. However, the longevity leaves much to be desired; it's below average )

This citrus cologne just explodes with brightness! 🍊 It has a tartness, but unfortunately, the longevity leaves much to be desired, and it leans more towards masculine scents.

This fragrance is really refreshing and pleasantly tickles the nose! It has orange with its bright peel and cool mint. A summer option, no doubt!!! On my skin, it seems to turn into a men's cologne, but it still remains pleasant. I'm sure it will unfold much more interestingly on a man

This cologne is just WOW! A long-lasting citrus scent with a monotonous sound, which actually speaks to its longevity. It has a bitter orange feel, and a base of patchouli and moss gives it a certain gloominess. For me, it's perfect at the gym or when I need to freshen up. It smells barely noticeable, but clear, and transports me from cold Moscow to sunny Italy!

The fragrance looks very appealing, but the longevity leaves much to be desired. The citrus notes are indeed bright, but unfortunately, they quickly disappear. As soon as I got home, almost nothing was left of the scent. I only smell a faint orange peel scent, and that's it 😕

It's like a shadow of the original Eau Sauvage by Dior. It feels familiar, but something's missing. You can tell it's just a reflection, not the true essence. As if something's gone, and now only nostalgia remains
