Identity and Release History

In 2007, the world of perfumery was enriched by the appearance of Hermès Kelly Caleche Eau de Toilette, a fragrance that instantly became a symbol of refined elegance and travel.

Named after the iconic Kelly bag and the Caleche carriage, this perfume reflects the spirit of the brand, where luxury meets functionality, creating a sense of freedom and style.

Released in 2007, it remains relevant today, winning the hearts of those who appreciate classic French sophistication with a modern twist.

Positioning and Wearability

This fragrance is positioned as Female, ideally suited for confident women who seek a balance between tenderness and strength.

Thanks to a moderate Sillage, it leaves a delicate trail without overwhelming the space, making it versatile for the office, dates, or daily outings.

For optimal development, we recommend 1 to 2 sprays on the skin and 1 to 2 sprays on clothing – this is enough to enjoy its nuances throughout the day.

The fragrance is especially good in spring and summer when its floral notes bloom in the warmth, but it also adds a cozy depth in cooler seasons.

Creators and Influence

The creator of this masterpiece was the legendary Jean-Claude Ellena, a perfumer known for his minimalist approach and ability to create transparent, airy compositions.

His work on Kelly Caleche reinforced the reputation of Hermès as a brand where every detail is thought out to the smallest extent, referring to the heritage of the house that began with horse harnesses.

This fragrance fits into Floral families but with a leather accent, which sets it apart from other floral releases, emphasizing the innovative spirit of the brand.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Kelly Caleche begins with a bright start, where Grapefruit adds a fresh citrus burst, and Lily of the Valley and Narcissus bring delicate white floral shades, creating a feeling of awakening and lightness.

In the heart of the composition, warm and sensual accords unfold: Mimosa gives a soft powdery quality, Rose adds classic romance, and Tuberose introduces exotic depth, tying all elements together into a harmonious bouquet.

The base notes anchor the fragrance, where Iris gives a velvety texture and elegance, and Leather accord adds a bold, modern touch, reminiscent of Hermès' legacy in leather craftsmanship.

This combination creates a dynamic journey from freshness to warmth and finally to refined longevity, making each stage of the development unique and memorable.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. You need to wait a bit with this one. Like all leather fragrances, it needs time to unfold. Maybe I just got lucky, but on my skin, it turns into beige suede. The scent itself is quite strict, without excessive sweetness or flirtation. And it remains just as strict, even a little dry

At first, I didn't like it at all, it seemed too ordinary. But now I'm absolutely thrilled! It has a powerful sillage, everyone around asks what that smell is and where it comes from. True femininity, one hundred percent! 😤

None of my acquaintances complained about an unpleasant smell, they only praised its delicate and bright aroma! The longevity and sillage are simply amazing!!! It really brings joy and lifts the mood

The fragrance is simply stunning! It's so warm and noble. It will be a real find in winter. You feel very cozy in it. I've only tried it on my skin so far, so I can't say anything about the sillage, but it's impossible to pull away from it. Truly beautiful, nothing to fault

I'll add a little to my review. At some point, it dawned on me, and I decided to buy this fragrance as a New Year's gift for myself. But here's the catch, I couldn't wear it. The leather here is too masculine, and the citruses and bright tuberose only intensify this feeling. I didn't know what to do with it, and then I noticed that the liquid level in the bottle was rapidly decreasing. It turned out my husband was happily using it, thinking it was a men's fragrance. I didn't try to convince him otherwise, let it be, I even like it! 🎉

Kelly is a rich floral perfume that, nevertheless, remains within the bounds of sophistication. The citrus notes at the beginning smell very pleasant, and then the scent becomes more powdery and floral, but all the flowers merge into one, and I can't distinguish any of them. In the base, it seems to fade into the background, but I didn't detect any leather at all 🌸

The fragrance starts with a bright grapefruit note that immediately grabs attention. Then it transitions into softer leather accents, which initially sound loud and then gradually fade. After an hour, it becomes almost imperceptible, as if merging with the skin. Honestly, I miss something feminine in this scent. Grapefruit and leather, leather and grapefruit - it's always the same. For me, it's too sour and sharp, it doesn't spark my interest

The fragrance is truly sophisticated and elegant. I like leather like in this perfume - I prefer suede the most. It's not rough, but soft, with floral notes. And "French" leather, as a rule, is associated with rose! But there's one thing that bothers me a bit: grapefruit in the top notes. It's so sulfurous and sour, piercing, like in Jour d’Hermes. Perhaps I just have an increased sensitivity to some ingredient that Ellena uses for grapefruits. But if you don't have such a reaction, then I think you'll like everything

This fragrance is certainly not for everyone. The suede-floral-citrus composition with an animalistic note sounds quite strange. Iris adds a powdery touch, but it doesn't save the situation. The sillage, yes, is beautiful, but overall - it's something that can only cause bewilderment. I don't know who would wear this, but it didn't appeal to me

A powdery floral-leather fragrance that is simply captivating! I can't compare it to the EDP, but the EDT seems softer and more nude. There's no sweetness here, and bright notes of rose or geranium are not audible. Instead, violet and heliotrope with mimosa stand out perfectly. The leather in the EDT has a smoky nuance, but it's not as green and tart as it could be. And, by the way, grapefruit is noticeable at the start - it's simply chic! Overall, the fragrance is elegant and very pleasant

How many times have I come across rave reviews about this fragrance, but my story with it is completely different. I bought samples more than once, even had a full bottle, but I just don't feel the magic everyone talks about. My husband used everything I had. There's some harshness in the scent, a bitterness, and I never really caught any femininity

If you cast aside all these brands, names, and other nonsense, there's nothing special about this fragrance. For everyday use - yes, but nothing more. Just another scent that isn't memorable and doesn't bring joy. Why spend money on something like this?! It's just awful!!!

AMAZING! This sour rose is simply striking! Lemons and grapefruit sound so bright in it. Herbaceous notes and mimosa create an incredible atmosphere, and a subtle suede base adds depth. A true masterpiece!

This fragrance reminds me of the smell of expensive fabrics, as if you're in a chic boutique. It evokes associations with moments when women prepare to go out, adjusting their outfits in an elegant setting. For now, it exists separately, and I'm enjoying my space ✨

There's something more than just powder in this scent. The softness of leather, as if it glows from within, pear seeds, and the bitterness of peach skin create a strange combination. A fruit on the verge of overripening evokes sadness. Roses, ylang, and geranium barely touch this bouquet, blending into a single note reminiscent of nude lipstick. All of this brings longing and sorrow, as if something important is slipping away 😔
